One problem related to tank assembly has been reported for the 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Today was the third time that I have refueled the car and have noticed that there is a strong gas smell when I park the car in the garage. I have looked with a flash light under the car (left rear below the tire rim) and I see gas dripping out of where a tubing connects to the fuel tank. This is a rapid drip that leaves a puddle on the floor. I have been cautious to not "over-fill" and still the problem persists.
