One problem related to automatic transmission park/neutral start switch has been reported for the 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I got out of the car, with the engine running, in park, emergency brake not applied, was on a level spot,. I left the door open, for a few minutes, the door slammed, and the car started going forward and ran into our other car and storage shed.
