My vehicle keeps throwing codes for the evap system. I have noticed many of these vehicles have to have their purge valve cannister replaced along with the selenoid for it. I have to replace mine. Is that not a defect if the vehicle? I have owned several vehicles and never had this issue with any of them.
I bought a 2010 Mercury Mariner on June 22, 2023 from a local dealer. There are several recalls associated with the make and model of the vehicle, but they do not appear to be associated with the VIN on my vehicle. However, the recalls on the vehicle appear to be affecting my vehicle and there is a warning on the dashboard of my car about the fuel system which is one of the recalls on the vehicle. Fuel delivery system is causing issues in my vehicle.
I recently purchase 2010 Mercury Mariner. There is a few errors appearing on the screen in front of the steering wheel. One of the error is "check fuel lines. " it also has an error about the tire pressure sensor. It also rides roughly, but the wheels are like new, so it feels like the suspension or shocks have something wrong with them. Also, there is a lot of play in the steering wheel when driving it. When I went to check on the recalls in the system by putting in my VIN, it shows that there are no recalls on my vehicle. However, these errors and issues are connected to the recalls for my vehicle. I am sure that these recalls have not been taken care of for this vehicle and they need to be fixed.
Charcoal canister and purge valve defective stuck at open. Check engine light, dropped fuel economy. Forced vehicle to shut off engine and no power, stop on freeway at full speed.

My vehicle has been running out of gas extremely quick. It also leaks underneath when I am pumping gas into the Mariner. I am having a loud thunking sound underneath the vehicle an when I let off the accelerator, my car slowly comes to a hault. My power steering went out one day also without warning. I can't figure the problem out except I seen a recall for the power steering module or some sort that has malfunctioned an causes the computer to erase the power steering sensor completely clean of it's existence. Please help!.
My steering column started shaking uncontrollably I noticed that the steering was harder and harder to steer and then it went out completely after my steering wheel was vibrating at a very high speed and shaking and controllably and making weird noises 5 minutes later my entire power steering went out I am now forced to drive my vehicle because I have another choice and I have a bad although which is now worse because of the steering my vehicle and the steering being out has messed with my starter it has messed with my brace and it has made my water pump belt fray which almost has broken off my ac compressor does not work my car is just not safe.
While driving on the highway my car just cut off in the middle lane. I was able to get into the emergency lane.

As I am driving down the road, on a city street. The vehicle will just shut off, for no apparent reason. It does this several times. Every time the car is been driven it will shut off several times and me and my family have been in traffic when this has occurred. It continues to do this at any speed and every time the car is driven. Can't drive the car not even a mile before it totally shuts off.

The vehicle was in motion at a stoplight. The light had turned green, and the vehicle was breaking to stop behind the first vehicle. I pressed the gas pedal to follow the first vehicle and the car stalled. The car could not be turned back on or put in motion. There was no indication of a problem prior to this throttle body failure. The car was pushed off the road by 3 people and into a nearby parking lot. The problem that made the vehicle unsafe was a defective Ford throttle body. The reference consumer satisfaction program 13n03. I received the recall notice June 2014, but Ford only suggested a recalibration (not replacement). The recalibration was completed at Ford autonation on June 23, 2014. Ford had estimated a throttle body reduction in movability and not failure. The mileage of this Mercury Mariner on the date of repair was 142551 and the in-service date, 06/18/2010. Therefore, the reimbursement should be covered under Ford's extended warranty of 150000 miles/10 years. The repair was completed 06/08/2020. Ten days prior to the expiration of the extended warranty. Ford claims they will not reimburse for the throttle body failure. This was well-documented in the previous claim 13n03 and this case should be reopened, based on the fatality possibility of a throttle body failure with the original part that came with the vehicle, which was also re-calibrated per Ford's recall in 2014. This incident proves that Ford's re-calibration did not prevent failure of the throttle body. Asking for a recall for the throttle body for the similar makes and models still in circulation as it's a safety hazard and also reimbursement for this service for vehicles that had it completed.
I was driving down the street at about 30 miles an hour and all of a sudden the car lost power and I felt like I was in low gear. The power surged causing the car to buck and stall, I was on a city street.
Abs light ,regen brakes disabled and check brake system message comes on at anytime while driving. Lose braking power, causing driver to push brake very hard to stop and brake pedal sometimes goes to the floor. When car stops sometimes it won't restart for days. It has a new battery. Coolant code comes on also and the car isn't running hot. This is a dangerous problem and needs a recall. Other than that the car runs great.
The vehicle will stall when it comes to a stop, mid turn, slowing down, and sometimes accelerating. Several websites show 100's of complaints from people with the same issue. It is a may safety concern because it dies at any point while driving.
While deiving a message on the dash stated to stop while it is safe. The car proceded to stall. It could not be started. I happen to be in the middle of the road and required to call for help to push the vehicle to the side. I was able to start the car later that day to drive it home. This is the forth time it happened over an 18 month period. I was very lucky that I was not in heavy traffic or on a high speed road during any of these events. I did have the car to a repair shop after the last time it happened and described the problem to the mchanic. Repairs were made but nothing to do with this problem. This is definitely a safety issue and it appears that it has been reported many times. I do not understand why there has not been a recall on this issue. I don't know what to do at this time or whether I should continue using the vehicle.
On October 18, 2018 I received the power steering assist failure error on my instrument panel when turning on my vehicle. I had driven it earlier in the day without issue. Previously I had the occasional warning noise and quick flash of an error (too quick for me to read all the way) and would have momentary difficulty turning. This issue makes it almost impossible to steer the vehicle. Research indicates that it is most likely a malfunctioning torque sensor. I reached out to Ford after learning of recalls for the 2009 model year. I was informed that my VIN was not included in the recall. Ford was unwilling to assist with the cost of repairs in any way. Their suggestion was to keep the receipt on the slim chance that the recall would be expanded. This is unacceptable. Had I been on a highway when this occurred it could have been fatal to myself or others. This repair will cost in the neighborhood of $1000 or more. I will need to have the work done at a dealership to ensure the repair is done correctly and that Ford won't give me reimbursement issues should the recall be expanded. This occurred less than a year after the fuel inlet valve failed on the vehicle, causing it to shut down while driving and rendering it unable to be started. The rear hatch has not been able to be opened for over three years because of an issue with the latch. I have had issues with the climate control system and well. There were issues with air conditioning when I purchased the vehicle (April 2015). The issues were not apparent previous to purchase because of the weather at the time. Within a month the weather warmed up. When I attempted to use the a/c it was only blowing hot air. The dealership was willing to fix the issue free of charge because of the circumstances. However, the issue is occurring again even after having an a/c recharge performed.
The vehicle randomly shuts down while operating on the highway between 65-75 mph. There is no warning and it becomes very difficult to steer the car. After waiting for 10 to 15 minutes the engine can be restarted and all seems to operate, until it happens again.
Ford's recall "code 14s19" on 2005-2008 Mariner hybrids and escape hybrids should cover all of these hybrids but it has exceptions! Ford has issued a recall on *some* of the 2005-2008 Ford escape hybrids and *some* of the corresponding Mercury Mariner hybrids. However they are refusing to issue a recall on my particular 2008 Mariner hybrid (which is exhibiting the electronic overheating problem described in the recall where the stop safely now comes on and there is an immediate loss of power). They are refusing to fix my Mariner just because the VIN number does not match the particular manufacturing lot covered by the original Ford recall - though my SUV does fall in the date range mentioned in the recall) I am certain this recall should cover more hybrid SUV than Ford has admitted to, and since the Mariners had a very limited production run, it is less likely that there wil be a significant number of complaints due to this very serious life threatening issue - and I would like to emphasize that there have been numerous complaints about this including on NHTSA. Ford should expand this recall to include all defective Ford escapes and Mariner hybrids before serious accidents start occurring as a result of vehicles shutting off during operation because of either drive electronics over heating due to a bad coolant pump, (and possibly other causes?). ----relevant recall-- NHTSA vehicle safety recalls recall number 14v526000 recall date 09/03/2014 component hybrid propulsion system Ford contact number for recalls 1-866-436-7332. . After receiving Ford's recall notice 16s41/16v-777 (fuel delivery module potential leak), my husband & I took our 2010 Mercury Mariner to lebanon Ford to perform recall "repair". We were not having an issue with the Mariner, but we were following Ford's instructions (via their mailed recall notice to us) to have the recall done. Now, our Mariner is messed up! it now won't start without a delayed crank (we have video recordings of how long it now takes for our Mariner to start!) & sometimes while driving, the Mariner jerks (both problems seem to be as though the car is not getting fuel). We made a 2nd trip to lebanon Ford after informing them of the issue they created, but they did not fix the delayed crank issue or the car jerking issue! lebanon Ford service is stating they can only perform the recall repair "according to Ford's guidelines". My husband asked lebanon Ford if the old parts could be put back on, but lebanon Ford said they had to send back the old parts to the manufacturer. So, now our once nice Mariner has significant issues because we had a recall "repair" done! we regret having the recall addressed! prior to the recall "repair", we had a nice Mariner with under 60k miles. Now, we have a Mariner with problems due to recall. It's not a repair! it's damage! further, they're not offering us any fix to the damage Ford did to our car.
While unit is running on road engine still running car stop for absent of power but engine keep running, pressing gas pedal will do anything , you have to turn engine off wait and turn engine on back in order to kept driving , this very dangerous because this happens in the middle of the hay way at any speed , please consider a recall we almost get kill by a rear impact if we did react fast . Update does not fix situation, this a troubleshooting from factory and they now this very clear. This happens in hay way 147 going north to south at 9. 10pm on 06/13/2018 where we were driving speed limits of 55mph.

The fuel system is not working properly. I’m scared to drive it anymore. I can’t even put gas in it.
I received safety recall notice 16s41 / NHTSA recall 16v-777. I inquired about it in January 2018 at my local Ford dealer. I was told the parts were back ordered. I called today to scheduled "the works" and to have this issue resolved. The rep stated if I didn't have an obvious gasoline leak, I didn't qualify for the repair nor need it. This has never happened before when I receive a recall notice, normally they replace the part regardless of its current state of functionality.

While in motion the car will stall causing me to pull off to the side of the road, turn the car off, then back on in order for it to work again. This happens every 10-15 miles and its really unsafe! I believe it is a defective throttle body and needs to be fixed ASAP before I can continue driving it.
