1 Hybrid Propulsion System Inverter problem of the 2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid

Failure Date: 06/05/2011

While driving on the freeway the gas engine to my 2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid unexpectedly shut down at least 4 times last evening. The control panel displayed a red triangle alter and the phrase "stop safely now". This was a very dangerous situation on a crowded detroit freeway where I had to maneuver over multiple lanes at a slow speed to stop the vehicle on the right sholder (the only available space). The vehicle restarted each time and and the problem reoccurred after less than a mile 4 or 5 times and then has not occurred since. I had a similar problem about six months ago where I paid Ford to fix the problem, but apparently that didn't happen. This is a very dangerous problem and should be fixed before people end up dead if it hasn't already happened.
