Dog ran into road and breaks were depressed with force going approximately 20mph, straight, in a neighborhood. After, breaks began to sink to floor with each stop. Brought to dealership and break pads were replaces, issue was not resolved. After, breaks continuing to sink to floor then breaks line leaked all fluid. Brought back to dealership for service. Told "computer" or "chip" needed to be replaced (all totally $1000). Car has performed fine since although breaks seem to be wearing down quicker. (date is approximate as just noticed all complaints and wanted to report mine as well).
The contact owns a 2007 Mercury Milan. The contact stated that the brakes failed while exiting the highway at 55 mph. The contact drove over an uneven road surface and as the brakes were depressed, the brake pedal released to the floorboard. The contact had to use the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. The contact did not locate a brake fluid leak of any kind. In addition, there was no warning of the failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but was not repaired. The failure and the current mileages was 67,000.
