I started my car and two idiot lights went on . The engine light and a wrench light. The trottle body part went bad. I had my car towed to the closest Mercury dealtership. Which is weisler dealership on bridge Ave, in point pleasant, NJ the want to charge me $425 for the part replacement and $275 for labor. I will have a $700 bill for a part that Ford has had many problems with and recalls on. I would like someone to look into this and please get back to me. I will also be contacting the Ford headquarters in CA. My name is pamela luparella. Cell number: 737-757-5507. Thank you for looking into this situation. I love the car but do not feel comfortable after reading all the complaints from Ford customers concerning the trottle body part problem. Ford folks need to look into this part.
While driving often times my vehicle reduces speed drastically, while pressing on the gas. This is very dangerous especially when on the highway because of the sudden reduction in speed. Most of my driving is done on the highway. It takes a long time for the vehicle to pick up speed again. Also it does this when I am stopped at a red light which is also a concern for me with my child in the car. I tried to get this problem diagnosed but it drives fine while at the mechanic shop. My vehicle has been doing this since my purchase with only having 42,000 and some miles on it. My vehicle has only about 60,000 and still does this. This problem needs to be fixed.
