1 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 10/18/2008

My 2006 Mountaineer has transmission problems. While coming to a stop at a light there is a loud "pop" or thud like noise as if the transmission is popping into place. Also transmission slips when going forward. It jerks especially at low speeds such as pulling out of a parking space. There is definitely something wrong with the transmission. Poor design or manufacturing but definitely something is wrong. You feel like you have been struck from behind when the popping/thud noise occurs at a light. Very unsettling. Also car lurches forward when pulling off from a standing position such as at a light and you feel like your going to hit the car in front of you.

Failure Date: 08/01/2007
