2006 Mercury Mountaineer. The transmission has problems. It punches in and out of gears, makes a loud grinding noise and pulls the car to the left. It has problems going into reverse. It does not happen all the time but I would say about 3 to 4 times a week. It is not safe to drive when the car does this. I am driving my 1 year old in this car and I have to concentrate so hard to make the car go straight and to put minimal pressure on the gas pedal so it doesn't jerk us too hard. It is at the dealership now and from what I have read online they will try to put a bandaid on the problem until the warranty runs out! this car only has 26,000 miles on it! I just bought it used about 8 months ago.
