Failure Date: 12/20/1998

Conumer received manufacturer's recall notice #98s-26, NHTSA recall 98v233, concerning trasnsmission floor shift indicator. Vehicle was taken to dealer. Dealer informed consumer that he would contact consumer when parts arrived. Nothing was heard since. Seeking hntsa for help in this matter.

3 Automatic Transmission Floor Shift problem of the 1998 Mercury Mystique

Failure Date: 11/15/1998

Consumer experienced problems with shift level indicator. While having vehicle washed, vehicle started moving on its own. This vehicle's sudden movement, caused it to run into an iron structure in which the vehicle was damaged. The manufacturer has yet to be contacted. The defects described comply with recall number 98v233000.
