1 Blower problem of the 1998 Mercury Mystique

The contact owns a 1998 Mercury Mystique. The contact took her vehicle to a mechanic because the blower motor resistor failed. The mechanic stated that her fuse box melted, which caused the blower motor to fail. She called the manufacturer and a representative stated that her VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 01v230000 (electrical system), although the failures were identical. The contact would be responsible for the repair costs. She is in the process of having the vehicle repaired. The failure and current mileages were 114,708.

2 Blower problem of the 1998 Mercury Mystique

Failure Date: 11/01/2004

No turn signals, one brake light and tail light, one headlight on driver side. Replaced all bulbs still no lights. Relay on driver's side window went out. Tires wear constantly. Tail lights flood as does front floorboard must park car flat when it rains to keep from being flooded out of car. Sunroof motor shot. Had recall on heater done and now when it rains I have problems with heater. Replaced senors and check engine light still on. Car has been stuck in park before had to have mechanic come to house to fix. Must repace rotors on car @ every 6 months. Car makes a clicking noise in the dash ( no idea what that is) headlights are foggy as well. Car is costing us a fortune. When I asked the dealership to fix all the recalls they told me the time had run out and sorry.

3 Blower problem of the 1998 Mercury Mystique

Vehicle description: passenger vehicles. The rough surface of the heater blower resistor's stainless steel blades can damage the copper surface of the wiring harness connector. The damage could, over time, cause increased resistance in the connector, and due to subsequent terminal relaxation, result in an open circuit condition.

4 Blower problem of the 1999 Mercury Mystique

Failure Date: 04/22/2003

Heater did not work properly. Vehicle was taken to dealer, and the blower switch was replaced. Also, consumer heard a loud squealing sound when depressing the brakes. Rotors were replaced on both sides of the vehicle. The dashboard began to rise up from the dashboard mount. Dealer had not yet resolved the dashboard problem. Manufacturer would be informed of the myriad of problems consumer was having.

5 Blower problem of the 1999 Mercury Mystique

Failure Date: 04/03/2002

Consumer states vehicle's dashboard is buckled causing defroster to malfunction which makes front windshield impossible to see through. Dealer notified. Please provide additional information. Ts.

6 Blower problem of the 1998 Mercury Mystique

Failure Date: 03/20/2002

Heater fan motor is inoperative. Dealer contacted. Conusmer received recall notice 99m07. Consumer took vehicle in to dealer. The dealer wouldn't authorize the work because the problem depicted in the recall was still working. Now that it is inoperative the dealer won't fix because the vehicle is over mileage. The defroster is also inoperable.

7 Blower problem of the 2000 Mercury Mystique

Failure Date: 03/10/2002

In March of 2002 the dash starting coming unglued and rolling up, which caused my defogger to pop out and not defog my windshield correctly. The car also stalls out when taking off from a starting position or changing to passing gear. The engine has to then be shut off and restarted for it to clear up. This will last about 30 minutes before it happens again.

9 Blower problem of the 1997 Mercury Mystique

The haeter blower does not function due to wiring under the dash melting. Dealer has not seen vehicle.

10 Blower problem of the 1996 Mercury Mystique

Steering wheel vibrates when in drive and stops at red light. Also when heater fan is on we get a bad oil fumes/smells . We have had it to the dealers 7or 8 times . They still haven't found the problem. The smell sometimes gets very bad.
