Failure Date: 12/15/2000

There is a short in the abs controller system which causes the fuse for the fan blower to blow therefore there is no heat and no abs which makes the car inoperable. When I took my car into the Ford dealer there was another lady with the same problem.

5 Defogger Controls problem of the 1996 Mercury Mystique

Consumer has noticed that for no apparent reason windshield has developed a stress fractur. Also , when driving there is vibration coming from rear of vehicle, and heater blower swtich was inoperable. Please provide any further details.

Blower resistor and motor burned out due to faulty plugs. The dealer has inspected and repaired the vehicle.

The fan switch is causing overheating and melting of the wire harness. The high/ medium/ low control does not respond when activated. Niether, will fan run on one speed only. The dealer has been contacted.
