One problem related to rear seat belt has been reported for the 1999 Mercury Sable. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Rear passenger seat belt restraints do not work. It is not possible to extend the seat belt across the lap and shoulder of the passenger. Thus it is unsafe for all passengers riding in the rear of the vehicle, and prevents proper installation of any and all child safety seats.
