Sun Roof Problems of Mercury Sable

The contact owns a webasto hollandia 600 sunroof. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign id number: 11v124000(visibility:sun roof assembly). Once she contacted the manufacturer, they advised her that the parts were on backorder and were unable to provided an estimated time of availability. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000. It was said to take two weesks until parts were in. Never recieved phone call. It has been close to two months. Updated 09/01/2011.

The contact stated water was coming from the outside of the vehicle, and leaking into the brake area. It was coming down behind the dashboard. When it rained there would be water in the driver's and passenger's side floorboard. She contacted the dealer. The first time they cleared out some leaves. The second time they said it was the track on the sun roof. Third time, the dealer claimed the leak was coming from the windshield. The dealer was offering no free remedy. There was noise coming from passenger's side front brakes. The dealer stated this was normal. Updated 12/07/05.

The rear brake lights did not illuminate when the brake was applied. The brake light switch was replaced 4 times which one out of the 4 repairs was recall related. Also the abs light was illuminated. Once the switch failed the shifter would not come out of park position. On another occasion, the sun roof was inoperative.

While driving on highway about 65 mph on an open field the sun roof fell in the vehicle over the driver & passenger. Vehicle was taken to dealer & rapaired, dealer said: the cause of breaking was a rock on the road.

The rear windshield suddenly shaterred while driving on a freeway! there was nothing that hit the car. The manufacturer refused to take care of this problem as the car was out of the warranty (mileage). The second problem regarding the radiator clamp occurred within 12 hours of my purchasing the car. Suddenly fumes came out of the engine with the 'low coolent' sign. Had to toe the car to the dealership who fixed it by putting a new clamp on the hose. The third complaint was noticed within 2-3 months of buying the car. The dealership fixed the problem by changing the malfunctioning switch. Never received any apologies from the company for the manufacturing defects. I don't know what is more to come. . . .

Sun roof fails to close properly. Would move very slowly and in a jerky motion. Sometimes topping in middle of track while closing. Problem has not been resolved. Will be taking vehicle to dealership to check it.

While driving the sun roof glass shattered. Cause unknown. Please describe details.
