One problem related to frame and members has been reported for the 1999 Mercury Villager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Defective design of the braking system caused a grinding noise when braking, and could cause extended stopping distance which might result in a crash. Dealer replaced front brake rotors twice, and turned rotors once/ brake pads 4 times. Also nois ecoming from sub-frame bolts. Dealer could not determine the cause of the problem.
