Two problems related to wiring have been reported for the 1999 Mercury Villager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Headlights suddenly went out while in use. This occurred because of a short in the electrical system wiring. The socket melted. This could cause a fire, per the dealership. Dealer replaced driver side headlight socket, wire harness and bulb.
When vehicle is idling automatic door locks engaged without warning. Consumer's child was in vehicle. Consumer stated the problem happens daily, consumer states maybe a possible wiring problem.
