The contact's son had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with total engine failure. The vehicle was then towed to BMW of hudson valley (2068 south rd, poughkeepsie, NY 12601) where the diagnosis was confirmed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered to pay 50% towards the part. The failure mileage was 55,000.
