One problem related to gas recirculation valve (egr valve) has been reported for the 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Engine check light was coming on and vehicle was losing gas. Check valve had gone bad and needed to be replaced. Also, dealer said that if in an accident it would't rollover, it could catch on fire.
