One problem related to automatic transmission park/neutral start switch has been reported for the 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Intermittently transmission will stick in 2nd gear, causing vehicle to lurch forward, and hesitate between shifts. Dealer is blaming problem on how the vehicle is being driven. One year ago dealer had to replace solenoid for same problem.
