Srs airbag system fault. Srs light elluminates on dashboard whenever driver or passenger seats are moved, indicating that the side airbag system is deactivating the entire srs system including the front airbags.
Srs light comes on/stays on - dealership states right passenger side airbag has to be replaced due to design flaw, not enough resistance on the wiring. Another car (same make/model) in that day had 2 airbags replaced for the same problem.
Airbag light came on. Took vehicle to dealer who replaced passenger side airbag. On 26 Feb 2001, airbag light came on briefly. Took vehicle to dealer again who replaced sensor. Airbag light came on again on 4 June 2001. Vehicle at dealer at this time.
Srs light for side air bags goes on all the time. Never turns off. From what I was told from my dealership at cutter Mitsubishi it's an electrical problem that needs to be replaced or else side air bags won't deploy in the case of an accident.
Srs light has come on & off several times in the last 6000 miles the service department has replaced seats for the side airbags the light still comes on & off the car has recently been in a collision the front airbags did deploy before I picked up the car the shop manager said they have to change the duram? because the light was coming on & they had put the wrong one in for only front airbags? I still believe it's the same problem we had before the car was wrecked. The second complaint the wheels (rims) bend at every 2000 miles we even had a blow out at 10 miles an hour in town.
Srs light is intermittent and it is taken in for service every time. The first couple of times the explanation was a bad ground and connector. Once the whole driver side seat was replaced because of recurrency of the srs light illuminating. Now a passenger side seat is on order to be replaced. Supposedly it is the same error code, but the code from the computer tells the technician to check the driverside side airbag, while the factory service manual states to check out the passenger side side airbag. At least this is what I have been told by the last technician to work on my vehicle.
