When attempting to start the vehicle after driving for a while the car would not start. I would have to move the cable harness and clamp around the battery posts to get a good connection so the car would start. I could not tighten the nut and bolt any further without breaking the bolt that secured the clamp around the battery post. I could not get my air conditioning unit to work since August of 2019 when parking my vehicle, then removing my key from the ignition, then opening the door to exit the vehicle, the horn activated and would not stop until removing the clamps to the battery posts. The front lights would start to flash if all doors were locked and the car was in park and the trunk door was opened with key. The passenger side window would not at times operate even after the regulator and motor was replaced. The key phos would not lock my car and the car would not flash front and tail lights or chirp to recognize locking signal from the key phos. The dashboard illuminates except for the fuel gauge side. The clock light dims when the car key is placed in the starting position from park and while running then brightens when the car key is placed in the off position and at park. The car was running better before being inspected at jerry's Mitsubishi at 1906 east joppa road baltimore MD. 21234 between 12-4 p. M. On 29 July 2020. I was expecting to have my vehicle repaired at the time of my appointment and was told that the person who had inspected my vehicle had left for the day and that some of the parts that were needed for repair had to be ordered. I specifically told the person who did the inspection that I beleived I knew what the problems were coming from and that I looked into the NHTSA website and saw that this vehicle was having the same problems as the NHTSA campaign number 99v333001.

- the contact owns a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse spider. The contact was driving at 25 - 30 mph on a nice day when the vehicle caught on fire. She stated that the wiring harness and the alternator were the source of the fire. This happened on December 23, 2006. The contact heard a noise, the vehicle lurched forward, lost power, and coasted out of traffic. She stated that the horn began honking, and she noticed that the vehicle was on fire. She could see flames coming out from the vehicle. The fire extinguished by itself before the fire department arrived. To date the dealership had been unable to tell her what caused the fire. The current and failure mileage were both 120,000.

Had recall done for lateral arm, dealer informed me head gasket was blown, two weeks later both door handles broke off, maybe the door handles shouldn't be made of plastic. The car has been through two alternator belts in the last two years. The car overheats and it melts them right off. You buy a product from Mitsubishi so you dont expect it to be made by Chrysler. My sister drives a Dodge avenger and we have the same exact engine, and guess what happened to it ---a blown head gasket. Maybe you people should stand behind your product and fix the ever so common problem. Everyone I know who drives an Eclipse has a blown head gasket. I am very unhappy and will never buy a car from Mitsubishi again.

I was sold this car as a Mitsubishi, it has a Chrysler engine one step up from a neon. If I would have wanted a neon by Chrysler I would have purchased 2 for the price I paid for my Eclipse. The lower bearings went out. I have extended warranty. At 68,000 miles the radiator cracked, computer and alternater went out causing my car to overheat immediately and the engine wouldn't restart until it had cooled. Was hard to restart. It had slick 50 treatments 4 times during its life. It also has had 3 faulty clutches.
While driving on highway or city streets shuts off intermittently, and all electrical power and power steering is lost. Vehicle cannot be restarted until next 24 hours. Dealer has been contacted dealer to remedy problem. Alternator has been changed, but driver is experiencing same problem. Please provide further details.
