2 Fuel Pump problem of the 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Failure Date: 07/23/2008

Vehicle stalled in heavy traffic and would not re-start. Upon troubleshooting reason for no fuel supply, found burnt connector pin on fuel pump housing. Fuel pump tested good. Heat from poor connection has melted the top of the fuel pump housing. I can smell gasoline vapors. Sparking connections or hot, melted parts in this area is a problem. I have photos to document damage. This is a fire hazard!.

7 Fuel Pump problem of the 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Failure Date: 04/01/2006

I bought my 98 Eclipse, standard, in 2003, not even a year after I had it it died on me on the freeway one day. Turned out it was the speed sensor that got me stranded in the middle of no where. About another 6 months later the found an oil leak on the head gasket that was making me misfire, that was fixed. The car was fine until about 2 months ago when the engine went out on me because apparently the engine oil and coolant were somehow mixing, my hoses were out, so was my water pump, O2 sensor and fuel pump sensor, all at the same time. Well I had major work done everything was put in new, about a month later my driver door handle falls off, that cost me 150 dollars! one month after that, now, my speedometer stops working all of a sudden and 2 weeks later my transmission goes out. Also my clutch is going out. So now I cant drive the car any higher than 5th gear because it throws my gear out!!! since I still owe 6k on the car I have no choice but to fix it. Which is going to end up costing me, in all I've spent and am about to spend, as much as I still owe on the car!.

8 Fuel Pump problem of the 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Failure Date: 08/23/2004

My 2003 Eclipse gts has been serviced for about 10 different things in a matter of 8 months. 4 seperate times I had brought it in for a jerking automatic transmission 3 times they told me nothing was the matter and it was fine. Finally the check engine light came on and they then informed me that the transmision needed to be reprogrammed. It worked for about 4 months. Also 20 days after buying the car my check engine light came on and the fuel pump and sensor needed to be replaced. 4 times I have also brought the car in becuase when the sunroof opens it jerks really bad. Every time I went there all they did was grease it and it still doesn't work properly. At 17,000 the power mirror on the driver side door stopped functioning and that was replaced. Today 8/23/04 at 20,000 I just dropped it off for the sunroof (again) and informed them my wheel shook while braking and was just notified that my rotors were bad and needed to be replaced and the cost to me was $200. 00 for a car with 20,000 miles and 1 year old. Mitsubishi states they have the best backed cars but when it comes down to it they do not back thier cars up when it matters.
