The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told the vehicle was fine and did not need to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. Approximately 1 week later, the check engine light began illuminating on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was told there was a hole within the fuel filler pipe. The vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer where the contact was told the fuel filler pipe was severely corroded but the hole was in the fuel tank, not the fuel filler pipe. The vehicle was repaired but not under the recall. The failure continued. The failure and current mileages were 134,429.
