The fuel filler pipe is leaking from behind the protection plate. I've contacted a local dealer and the manufacturer and feel that I'm getting the run around as there is a previous recall for this same problem on the 2004 model, while mine is a 2010. I had it inspected prior to contacting Mitsubishi.

I just had to pay for a repair for the fuel filler pipe. It was leaking as I would fill the car with gas. This model had a recall for this problem but my car VIN was not included. The part they put down on the bill was "the recall kit". I feel that mine should have been covered also.

I really don't understand how used car dealership home town auto can sell you a car they know have an open recall on a vehicle but fail to let the american consumer know at the time of purchase in 2020,then call you a couple of days later saying they need you to come and sign a paper saying as far as they know there's no open recall on the vehicle. I asked why? is there a recall on my car? I was told no. The only way I found out there is a recall on my car since 2009 was from my insurance provider. So I called the car dealership and asked how can you sell me a car that has a open recall 2009. He tells me OH yeah you can call the 1-800 and get it fixed for free. I asked so you knew at the time of purchase there is a recall?then he said no I don't work in sales. Then he said it was basically my problem now. I feel this should be illegal. This car company should be investigated. Oh btw this is my 2nd car in 1yr because my 1st car had a cracked engine and they rigged the back shock because the car was in a wreck&they failed to tell me the titled was salvaged!.
Fuel filler neck is defective causing code p0442. Car VIN was never part of recall. I should get reimbursed for this repair.

My car will die when idling or if speed is less than 20 mph. It takes numerous times to restart and will have to accelerate to get it going again. This can happen anywhere at anytime.
Car would not start after pumping fuel in - took to mechanic; he said battery fine few days later, car would not start after pumping fuel in - took to mechanic; he said battery bad. I replaced battery. Few days later, car would not start after pumping fuel in - took to mechanic; he said new battery fine. Since car did not start 3 times in a row after pumping gas, and I needed a jump every time, I had mechanic do a diagnostic. He said the issue was tied to a recall bulletin. 10v065000 - filler pipe and cap. Called Mitsubishi to fix it but they said my car does not qualify because I am state of California. I do a lot of my driving in snow so I feel Mitsubishi should fix this for me. This is a potential fire hazard so I need to fix it ASAP (plus I don't want to get stuck at a gas station again needing a jump). I'd like Mitsubishi to reimburse me for this expense because now I have to pay out of pocket.
Windshield randomly fogs over. Heat switches randomly between heat and ac. Gas pedal sticks even when applying pressure to brakes car acts like the gas pedal is floored. Car lunges forward even when brakes are applied. Vehicle can be stationary and still lunges also has happened when it's in motion has happened in city and and rural areas.
Any time I put gas in auto, it takes about six attempts to start. Will not start immediately after fueling.

I have talked to Mitsubishi numerous times since August 2016. They keep passing the buck or case manager is on vacation. I've been using a hose and funnel to fuel my car because the fill tube has rusted out. This and 4 more recalls on this car puts me in a dangerous situation that Mitsubishi is aware of. I am tired of getting the run around.

This investigation was opened on December 30, 2009, based on five consumer reports alleging gasoline fuel leaking from the fuel fill pipe. Some of the complainants indicated the fuel fill pipe had corroded to the point of being perforated, allowing fuel to leak from the pipe. We had this fixed in concord, nh. Now it needs to be fixed again. They say they do not fix it twice. I called last November and Mitsubishi was no help at all. We have only 115, 000 miles on the car.
