The a/c drain tube leaks and causes water to pool up on the driver's side floorboard underneath the carpeting. I have had the vehicle looked at two times and all they can do is blow the tube out, which only temporarily fixes the problem. It is recommended to have the dash removed in order to get to the box where the debris is located to repair the seal. I don't have hundreds of dollars to have this done, nor can I do without my vehicle for several days! this should be made a recall because it becomes not only a safety hazard, but also a health hazard. The water makes the floorboard wet, causes the windows to fog up on the inside and causes the flooring under the carpeting to possibly become corroded. Plus, it causes mold to grow which makes my allergies flair up. So, Mitsubishi if you read this, please consider recalling all Endeavors to fix this problem!!.

My 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor has some sort of problem that seems to be the same as others. The floorboards are soaking wet and are causing our feet to slip when pressing on the brake and gas pedals. The carpet is constantly covered in mold because of all the moisture and the smell is misty and sometimes unbearable. Have a young child with asthma and allergies and a newborn. I have not fixed the problem because there is a dealership, but wants to charge $1,000 to fix a design flaw. Mitsubishi motors has a technical service bulletin (TSB-09-55-002) to fix the problem by drilling into where the water accumulates and install a secondary drain.
There is a leak that is causing the driver side carpet to become very wet. This I also resulting emittng an odor.

Like many, many reports the drivers side floor mat is saturated and pooled with water from the ac/hvac system drainage failure. The manufacture has TSB's on on the issue with foam gasket replacement or initially drilling a hole cleaning it out and installing a rubber plug TSB-08-55-007. Now installation of a hose used for radiator overflow on an eclipse now being suggested TSB-11-55-003. How is this not a design flaw and how is the mold and moisture issue not a safety concern. The internal cab parts are not coated or treated to inhibit rust from this excessive moisture. The excessive moisture inside the vehicle also accumulates on the inside windshield of the vehicle as it removed thru the system but re-enters thru the firewall into the floor.
Bought this 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor used with 64k miles in January. Started using the air this summer and noticed driver's side floor is soaking wet after each use. Found online that multiple people are having this same issue. Called the dealership and they confirmed that Mitsubishi is aware of it and have put together a fix between $220-$350 but there is no re-call. I was told the problem is a failed seal in the a/c unit. Also, had to have the egr sensor replaced twice. Called Mitsubishi and they said nothing they can do because the car is out of warranty. It ran $400-$500 each time at the dealership.
After driving on a long trip, found the driver's side floor carpet and mat soaked with water. Ac drain tube is blocked causing mold and odor. The drain tube is too short and located inside the firewall and needs to be lengthened out of the firewall (per Mitsubishi TSB-11-55-003). The flooring continues to be soaked with water even when the ac is not in operation. This is an unsafe condition due to the stepping on the wet floor mat and causing the break pedal and gas pedal to become wet, causing your foot to slip off the pedals when wet. Not to mention the breathing in the mold caused by the wetness.
We noticed a lot of water on the drivers side floorboard after receiving the car back from receiving hail damage repair. We contacted the auto repairman assuming that the water was associated with the repair. We were told that it was not that the Mitsubishi Endeavor has a design defect with the heater core and ac drainage. A second mechanical opinion confirmed this. We vacuumed the car using a shop vac and documented 4 inches of water removed from the car on two seperate vacuuming sessions. A member of the family is allergic to mold and has found the resulting mold to be a health hazard. This is the only mode of transportation for the family and the quoted cost of repairs is in a range of $400-$900. The wet floor presents a potential for physical harm as it is extremely wet.
1. ) the driver's side floor in both the front and back are soaking wet. The water is coming from inside the car. My research indicates this is caused by the air conditioner leaking into the car due to a blockage. 2. ) I am having to replace another plastic door handle which has come off within the past three months. These plastic handles are cheap and create a danger as ingress into the car is hampered. Door handles should be metal and should not be able to come off!.
Drivers side has wet floor mats, as ac is backed up causing mildew and an unpleasant odor. The whole floor is wet, stretching back to the passengers side. Dealer says they will drill a hole and blow out ac, but not guarantee a permanent fix. This is unsafe because the stepping on wet floor mats make the break and gas pedals wet.
Water leaking into driver side floorboard due to faulty a/c condensation seal at firewall on 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor.
The contact owns a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor. While parked, the contact noticed that the front drivers side floor mat was moist. The contact also stated that when it rained, water entered the vehicle and moisture accumulated on all of the floor mats and floor boards. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostics. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
Constant water leak onto mainly the driver's side floor board. It has also happened on the passenger side. I am vacuuming out over 1/2 gallon of water every couple of days during the summer. I'm guessing this could lead to mold and/or mildew buildup and corrosion to the floorboard. With all I've been reading online, this is a known Mitsubishi problem, but apparently they aren't willing to fix the problem. I also have issues with the air conditioner just blowing hot air after extended periods of time.
The h-vac system does not work. When air conditioning is used water seeps into the floorboard and completely soaks the floor and mat, which creates a very rank odor. To correct this problem it will cost the consumer approximately $800. 00. This is clearly an engineer defect/flaw. We were told by an Mitsubishi service rep that the following year (2005) it was corrected. Obviously Mitsubishi was aware of this problem. Why wasn't a recall done on this problem? I think it certainly warrants one. How many other people have been affected by this? why should the consumer assume costs for something that was not made correctly? I am baffled, as to why a car corporation would not take care of their customers?.
A/c drains to the interior drivers side floor board creating a sever safety hazard, also rusts out the fan blower.
For sometime I have notice that my mat on the driver side is always wet. I'm afraid that the floor is going to give out. Also, my latch on the back just stop working.
Water is leaking onto the driverside front floor everytime the air conditioning runs. Mold is growing and the odor is horrible. I must have read at least 300 complaints of this online by other owners of a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor, and it is without a question, a design flaw and Mitsubishi will not admitt to this. Rather, they are asking for more than $1200 to fix it. This problem is more than a major inconvenience, it is a health hazard allowing people to inhale mold while driving, not mentioning the other problems that the water is probably causing, such as rust, and potential electrical problems. Mitsubishi should be forced to fix this free of charge, since literally hundreds of Endeavor owners are reporting the very same problem with water on their driver-side floors. Please contact me at [xxx]if anyone has this problem, as well as how we might be able to all get together to force Mitsubishi to take action. Thank you. I have owned my 04 Endeavor unlimited when it came out, drove it off the lot. I continue to own it to present date 09/09. I noticed the paint job at the top of vehicle and lg areas on the hood as well as areas at top of the brake light at rear of car are wearing down to the primer. I feel the paint job was not done properly and feel Mitsubishi should be held responsible for repainting. It was declined saying it exceeded the mileage specification. 3yrs or 36,000 miles would warrant a new paint job. What happened to bumper to bumper warranty which is what was understood at the time of purchase?.
Water leaking behind dash. Has anyone had any success in repairs for this problem. Thankyou.
Water is leaking in drivers side due to air con drain I had an accident due to slippery shoes.
Due to design flaw. Water from a/c unit entering driver side passenger area. Wetting floor panel and carpeting. Dealer charged $830. 00 to fix problem. Part replaced was a grommet ($3. 28) total amount including tax $918. It seems to be a common problem in many Endeavors .
My 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor has some sort of leak right behind the dashboard similar to the one on complaint #10204166. My fan blower motor was replaced due to water damage and more water keeps coming down from behind the dash. Mitsubishi in the bronx wants to charge me a large amount for a repair that is a manufacturer defect. Can someone help me with this issue.
Serious safety issue that will result in slippery floor carpeting, brake, and acceleration pedals due to design flaw. Water from a/c unit entering driver side drivers floor area. Wetting floor panel and carpeting. Possibly a grommet it seems to be a common problem in many Endeavors .
: the contact stated while parked, it was noticed that water had leaked on the front driver side floor mat. The vehicle had been to the dealer a total of 7 times for the same problem. The air conditioner line was flushed on every visit. Also, an unknown part was ordered and installed on the vehicle, but the problem persisted. Currently, the vehicle had a mold odor, and the driver floormat was flattened because of the water.
2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor 4x4, at the time I reported the rusting problem I had under 20,000 miles on my vehicle. It has heavy rust under the back seats, on the hinges that operate the seats, the coil construction of the seat, the area where the jack is stored and the jack itself. I notified the company and there response was that this was normal. I can find no one else who agrees with this statement. I have pictures available and would like help in this matter. My daughter and I both have allergies and if there is that much moisture in this vehicle I am afraid that there may also be unseen mold that could be harmful as well. I feel I have tried to resolve this nicely, but they are not willing to do anything about it.
Ltr fm james g. Shciller (NY) re an investigation of his 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor. Opening the rear right window created a loud thumping/vibrating noise when driving above 40 mph. Respond directly to the constituent & copy to senator's NY, NY ofc. The noise/vibration was so severe when the rear window was opened, that it caused pain to the occupant ears and head, therefore the rear window had to be closed immediately. The vehicle was taken tot he dealer but they were unable to correct the problem.
While driving with the windows rolled down at 40 mph the wind causes discomfort to ears and head. The right rear window created a loud thump and or vibrating noise.
