One problem related to automatic transmission park/neutral start switch has been reported for the 1996 Mitsubishi Galant. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When driving and upon taking off vehicle hesitated and jerked forward. Also, when driving transmission locked up, causing tires to skid. Consumer has contacted dealer. Dealer has replaced parts, problem still occurs. Ak the converter locks sometimes due to tcc soleniod failure.
