Failure Date: 01/18/2008

Brake failure when you stop the brakes scrub I have receipts showing that the I have to continue to have the brake inspected and also have to slam very hard when trying to stop the car. The noise when you are stopping the car is very loud and contact the manufacturer and was told nothing they can do due to no warranty. Also, there is no signal indicating when the car needs oil, no check engine comes on, front lights blew a week after buying the car and replace it several times and continue to blow, the same brake light blew again and contact Mitsubishi and ask them about it and they told they will charge me to fix it. When pulling up the brake in the car no light indicating that the brake light is on. My fan for the ac stop working and now when I drive I can hear the ac sounds like it is going to blow when you turn it on.

9 Headlights problem of the 2001 Mitsubishi Galant

Failure Date: 04/30/2006

My 2001 Mitsubishi Galant has been leaking very bad on both the driver and passanger side ever since I got it. I not only have to fold my pant legs when I ride in my car but it is also growing mold, which can't be healthy. It also has never had good exterior lighting. My headlights always seem dim and they point upward rather than at the road where they belong.

10 Headlights problem of the 2003 Mitsubishi Galant

Failure Date: 03/05/2006

I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant ES. It has 69000 miles. As of right now the problem with my car hasn't caused an accident but I am afraid in the future it might. It started with the radio staying on even after the key is pulled, then it went to that if I used the wipers and the headlights at the same time, the wipers wouldn't shut off until I shut the headlights off. We then had to pull the fuse for the horn, because while sitting in the garage, not running, hadn't been running for several hours, the horn started blaring, and wouldn't go off until my husband disconnected the battery. I am scared for my own safety as well as others, to use the cruise. I am scared it will stay on, and I would be involved in a severe crash. Please help, no one seems to know exactly what the problem is.

11 Headlights problem of the 2003 Mitsubishi Galant

Failure Date: 09/22/2004

A few months ago the radio started staying on even while the key was pulled completely out, then the horn fuse had to be pulled because while sitting in our garage and the car not running, and hadn't been running for 12 hours, the horn started blaring, until my husband could disconnect the battery, then while driving home one evening in the rain, I had the wipers and headlights on the wipers would not shut off, even when put in the off position. They would not shut off until I shut the headlights off. I am scared for my safety as well as others to drive my car, and especially to use the cruise. I fear that if I do use the cruise it will stay on, and I will be involved in a deadly crash. No one seems to know what is the problem. It seems to really act up when the weather is damp or wet. The wipers will come on by themselves in the off position, with or without the headlights. Please help.

13 Headlights problem of the 1999 Mitsubishi Galant

Failure Date: 11/01/2000

When engine speed falls to idle (with fan and radio and defrost all set to off), all lights in car, and the headlights, will dim. It's very noticeable. When engine speed rises, lights brighten. I've had the car in muliple times to get this fixed. The dealer has recently been in contact with Mitsubishi motors and their techs told the mechanics to check various things (like bad grounds), but nothing has been found to be a problem. Mitsubishi now says that it's "normal operation. " this car never used to do this up until around novermber 2000. A person who works at burlington mitsuibishi grabbed a new Galant off the lot, and the lights didn't dim at idle. I also had a 1996 Mitsubishi Galant and I did not have problems with the lights dimming. I don't feel this is a safety issue at this point, but who knows what might happen. I want to sell this car (cause I needed and bought an all-wheel drive car) and I feel that this condition is going to hurt the value of this car. I know that if I were to buy it from someone, I'd not be happy to see these lights dimming at idle. I feel that I'm being strong-armed by Mitsubishi because they don't know what the problem is. So far the altenator has been replaced, and the rest has been testing.

14 Headlights problem of the 1999 Mitsubishi Galant

Failure Date: 06/04/1999

Headlights illuminated although the headlight switch was in the off position. This incident occurred while parked and caused the battery to completely discharge, requiring motorist assistance. The headlights were observed to illuminate with the switch in the off position several times after the original incident. This was caused by a defective headlight switch located on the steering column. Due to the defect in the lighting control system, this could cause headlights to function intermittently while driving at night. This would be a safety concern to lose headlight function while driving.

15 Headlights problem of the 1999 Mitsubishi Galant

Failure Date: 02/04/1999

On February 4, 1999 at 11,416 miles, I complained of vibration when braking. According to the service receipt, the brake rotors were resurfaced. On may 20, 1999, I complained of vibration when braking the mileage at this time was 19,394. According to the service receipt, the front rotors were replaced. Again on July 16, 1999, at 26,975 miles, I took my car in for repair a third time for vibration when braking. According to the service receipt, the front rotors were replaced and the rear drums resurfaced. Each time the problem subsided for a while but then returned. On September 9-10, 1999, the dealership again attempted to fix the problem. They indicated that they had received a "technical bulletin" with suggestions for addressing the problem. This time, they replaced the brakes and added some kind of bushings to the steering system. Now I am experiencing a continuous low-level vibration at interstate speeds. In addition, on September 16th, 1999, I began experiencing problems with my headlights. When I use my left turn signal, the lights automatically go to "bright". In addition, the headlights will not go off when the switch is in the "off" position.
