The contact owns a 2010 Mitsubishi Galant. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she became aware that the vehicle was maneuvering abnormally and experienced a brief loss of control. The contact stated that when attempting to turn or slow the vehicle, the front end briefly swayed from left to right, then pulled in one direction. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed failures with both the control arms and the crossmember. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA campaign number 20v279000 (structure, suspension), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Mitsubishi Galant. The contact stated the vehicle pulls too the right when being driven. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and had it test driven. The dealer stated that the vehicle pulling to the right was normal. The contact feels the torque on the front right axle is too tight and that it is a safety issue. The failure mileage was unknown, but the current mileage was 15,000. Rl.
The contact states that she purchased the car in July of 2004. When she bought the car she was having several problems with the vehicle, and the dealer really didn't' want' to help her with any of her problems. She had an accident, she was not sure what happened with the vehicle, but she said check engine light kept coming on, and she had a tire and oil change. She lost all control of vehicle. She tried hitting the brakes and she didn't have any brakes. Finally the car landed. The dealer just told her that she hit something, but she didn't hit anything. About a month before the accident she took the vehicle in for a tire pressure inspection. The vehicle, while she was driving before the accident, the car dropped to the passenger side. She was going under 60 mph.
Bought a new Mitsubishi Galant 2005. At about 150 miles during the break in period I started to notice a vibration in the front. After the break in period when I could take it to a higher speed I also noticed a distinct shimmy in the steering wheel. The vibration is very pronounced between 70 and 80 mph. At this speed the vibration is noticeable on just about any road surface. The vibration is felt in the steering wheel shimmy and in the seat of the pants vibration emanating from the front. The complaint was initially addressed by the Mitsubishi dealer by noting that two tires were out of balance and re-balancing. This did not work. Then the vehicle was sent to a tire specialist where a road balance was done and one tire wheel combination that could not be balanced the tire was replaced under warranty through yokohama. The problem did not go away. Mitsubishi was contacted and the regional manager for Mitsubishi ordered to replace the yokohama tires with michelin. I allowed a break in period for the tires and this has not solved the problem. The tire specialist noted that it could be a bad front axel or transmission engine mounts. At this point I feel it is a defect since the work done while consistent with bad tires or unbalanced tires has not solved the problem even though there has been several re-balancings and a new set of tires by michelin. The problem of front vibration and the shimmy in the steering wheel continues.
I purchased a used car in 2004. Later when I brought it in to the dealership for the balljoint recall, the dealership refused to get involve in assisting me in pursuing the extended warranty that I had purchased with the car regarding other critical issues with the drivability of the vehicle. This vehicle should have been jumked which I eventually ended up doing. The vehicle was very dangerous to drive on the freeway and I only drove it on city streets only. The dealership I believe should have given me a loaner car insead of me risking myself in a dangerous vehicle. The wynn's extended warranty should have returned the vehicle to the original dealer when I purchased the vehicle. The dealer should have assisted me more in pursuing the correct repair of this vehicle which should have been salvaged from a previous accident. Right now I am out of $1000 warranty and a vehicle purchased at $5000. You will have to hold the warranty wynn;s or the business that sold me the vehicle responsible. This business tried to weld the transmission casing broken in the accident back which I later found out at another repair shop. This doesn't look good for the reputation of the company or the brand. Any recourse do I or NHTSA have against the manufacturer. The dealer is out of business.

I have a 2002 Galant, and at 30,000mils, I had to replace the front brake rotors, and the brake pads. I was told it's not covered under the warranty terms. There's severe vibrations, and rotational noise noticed when driving at 60mph and above, and I took the car back to the dealer, they told me they repacked my bearings, but the noise and vibrations still continue to surface. Although the dealership tried to help me, while the cars is still under warranty, but I don't think they know the problems themself.
Severe vibrations are felt on the steering wheel beginning over the speed of 60 mph and gradually increasing over 70 mph which may increase the risk of motor vehicle hazard to the vehicle occupants especaially driver. The vibrations are maximum at a steady speed of 65 to 70 mph on a newly constructed highway preferably with smooth surface. Steering vibrations decreases when driving on highways with rough surfaces and when accelerating the car, that is when stepping over the gas pedal. However, over a smooth surface highway, steering vibrations are severe when accelerating over 65-75 mph and decelarating upto 65-75 mph and maintain a steady speed at 70mph with slight variations. Severe steering wheel vibrations are felt highest at the top of steering (also apparent visually and felt on hands) and gradually decreasing towards the base (bottom) of the steering wheel.
Thermostat stuck causing engine overheating. Also, ac runs cold and then warm in city driving. On the highway it is cold. A severe vibration occurs in city driving with the air conditioner on also. I have to turn the air off to make it quit. I contacted the dealer about both of these problems and because it is not under 36k miles they will not do anything else about it.

Vehicle seriously vibrates when accelerating. Also, transmission is slipping when shifting from first to second gear. Dealership examined vehicle, and found drops of water in transmission fluid. Manufacturer stated that driven in rain and flooding caused water to enter transmission. Consumer indicated that ehicle was parked , and was not subject to wet conditions during recent flooding. Please provide any additional information/attachments.
Steering wheel shimmies whenever vehicle reaches 60 mph or more. Vehicle been has been in / out of dealer shop, and problem still goes unresolved. Feel free to provide further details.
Vehicle wanders off into another lane. Also, driver's side seatbelt retractors are in backwards/there is a gasoline leak from underneath vehicle, and vehicle shakes and vibrates when traveling on the highway.
When traveling at 65 mph car tends to pull to the right and left. While driving at about 30mph and slowing down, the car vibrates.
Either when driving or braking the car begins to shake.
Vehicle will vibrate when driving at speeds of 50 mph or more which could cause loss of vehicle control. Dealer can't figure out the cause.
When brakes are locked, vehicle has an inordinate tendency to skid on roads that are barely wet even at low speeds (20-30 mph).
Steering wheel shakes when driven over 65 mph or over.
Consumer states after lengthy highway driving and when braking feels some pulsation in brake pedal and steering wheel shimmies during braking. Vibration can also be felt in passenger seatback. Dealer found runout of rotors and tires were balanced. However problem still exist.
