Electrical System Problems of Mitsubishi Mirage

The wires in the rear near fuel pump have degraded causing the fuel system failure. . Upon inspection the wires are frayed and possible fire hazaard as its at the fuel pump I have seen many complaints about this on 2017-2023 models including the g4 and hatchback. The keep saying its mice but it is a sealed area and no poop or other damage.

The component is the vehicles radio system. When the vehicle is started with the key, the radio immediately comes on without pushing the button. The radio is turned off manually before turning the vehicle off. This is a safety complaint and a safety distraction when driving in reverse or foward. I have almost hit other people and objects, because you dont expect the radio to come on without manually turning it on. The vehicle was seen at the deallership, and the problem confirmed. This vehicle was purchased brand new. The problem was noticed a few months after the purchase, but it was not being driven daily. No warning lights or messages have been noted. Now as a daily driver this safety concern exist, every time the vehicle is started.

My 2019 Mirage kept shutting off at random times. Although it started right back at first now it won't start at all. I was driving and with no warning my car shuts off and I'm on a pretty busy highway and I have to steer it off the road traffic flying by me. My so 2 years is in the car as well and his safety as mine was put in jeopardy and is something that needs to be fixed right away. And needs to be first on recall list.

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

Noise when start the engine.

I have noticed that when driving over rough road, or after an abrupt pothole, all electronics in the car will shut off. After about five minutes a reset will start and, even though I'm still driving, all the dash lights and test will go through the cycle usually reserved for when I start the car. If I happen to turn off the car while it is in this sort of outage, it will require a jump to start. The radio will forget its stations, and the clock will need to have the time set again. I have tried my own remedies (like jiggling the fuse box (which does not seem well attached), and wiggling wires) trying to track down the probelm with no success. My private mechanic says that he has seen this in other Mirages and never found the cause. It only happens about a second after a large bump or heavy repeated vibrations. I bought the car used (from enterprise rentals), have owned it about a year, and it has happened four times. Thank you for the good work you do. I hope this helps.

In on about 2018 drivers side window motor failed with window in down position on interstate in thunderstorm causing low visibility and rain and some hail to enter. Dealer changed or repaired. Then about 08/10/20 the window motor failed again. Soon afterwards the front passenger side window motor failed causing electrical smell / smoke to engulf car interior. I've tried mulitple times for Mitsubishi to reply. Today,. A spoke person told me I need to take the car into the dealership for inspection. Note:. I can hear the motor on driver's window when pushing the up/ down button.

Lost of acceleration or sudden acceleration, hello, I purchased this Mitsubishi Mirage 2017, and I drove it for 2000 miles. I have noticed the lost of acceleration or sometimes sudden acceleration without pressing the accelerator. I am reporting my Mitsubishi to be on the safe side, and I am asking if this problem can be a trigger for a recall about this car. I wanted to stop for a stop sign, but the car did a sudden accelerate, and I had to press the brakes hard. Engine caught on fire parked and not running in my driveway.

My vehicle's engine is shaking on the arms, lights going off esp. During wet weather, and corrosion is extreme. My brakes cut on and off - this has been happening since I purchased the car in June, 2017.

This vehicle was bought as new on 05/03/2015. On 05/05/2015, after starting the vehicle, waiting for heat up, all the indicators of the instrument panel went on (service engine soon, abs, traction control, tire pressure, etc. ). Also the back light of the instrument panel began to blink, and a continuous beep sound or code could be heard. While this behavior occurred, the vehicle's rpm became unstable, as if the car was going to stall and turn off. After a few minutes I turned the vehicle off and back on again. The conditions did not repeat except for the service engine soon indicator. I used the car normally and the next day the ses indicator was off by itself. Diagnostic tool did not detect error codes. On 06/21/2015 the condition repeated again with the same pattern. The service centers have not made further verification of this issue. Also an inspector from Mitsubishi considered it a minor issue since the vehicle's computer is not presenting codes. The safety concern is the risk that this behavior may occur in the middle of the road while driving.

The radio will randomly completely lose all power during cold weather while driving. It shuts down after about ten minutes of driving and stays off for about three to five minutes before powering back up. It only happens in cold weather and after the first few minutes. Since my car is still under warranty, I took it to the dealer a few months after I purchased the vehicle. They told me they could not recreate the problem at that time and that I should leave my car with them. They said they would not take it apart to try and find the problem because it would take too much time and cost too much money for them. Since it occurs randomly, and I needed my car for work, I could not leave it in hope of it randomly happening for them. Now that its cold again, it started again. It's a new car so this should not be happening.

Engine stalls without warning and shuts off. The defect is intermittent and does not give a check engine alarm. As a consequence you may end up without power when passing to other vehicles or going accross intersections. Have not yet identified cause. Was rear ended do to this defect.
