Two problems related to hydraulic power assist steering system have been reported for the 1997 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle lost power steering assist, and the engine overheated while driving at any speed. This was caused by the crankshaft pulley bolt shearing off. Dealer was notified.
Crankshaft/pulley recall was done in January 2002. Recently vehicle lost powers teering at 45 mph. Dealer stated crankshaft/ pulley needed to be replaced. Please provide additional information.
