Air Conditioner Problems of Mitsubishi Montero Sport

The contact stated that the crank shaft bolt came loose on the 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport on 9-6-05. The crank shaft bolt broke the air conditioner belt. The contact lost power steering ability, the alternator belt broke and the harmonic balancer failed. In 1999 there was a recall on the crank bolt but this vehicle was not included in the recall.

When the vehicle was purchased the rattling noted in the air conditioning was noted. The aluminum bracket holding the compressor was replaced with a cast iron bracket. We have noticed that the vehicle does not cool down while operating the air conditioning now. I have taken it to a dealerships service department on several occassions to be told it is cooling. It is almost as though the vents do not open to allow the cooled air to flow in. I have also contacted Mitsubishi's diamond care service number to be told there is nothing they can do to help. This is a long standing problem. I have had someone check the system outside of a Mitsubishi dealership who agrees there is definitely a problem.

1999 Montero Sport. The air conditioner a/c belt went out 3 times last summer and now, its summer again in az, and there goes the a/c again! it has not been a year since the last a/c repair! did I fail to mention the transmission had to be completely rebuilt before 80,000 miles?.

Air conditioner was not working properly. Air conditioner belt disappeared. Contacted dealer, and dealer could not locate air conditioner belt, and didn't know what happened.

The air conditioning failed. Nlm.

The air conditioning dispells an odor similar to urine when turned on. The front end of the truck shakes badly when the brakes are applied at 50 mph or greater. Both of these problems continue even after the repair work. The a/c problem has never gone away . All the dealership does is apply a deoderant but it does not help. The rotors have already been changed once and the brakes were also changed. The tires were even rotated but the vibrating continues.

The consumer smells a foul odor coming from the a/c vents. Nlm.

Air conditione rcompressor broke.

Everytime consumer starts up vehicle there is a loud noise due to back pressure in engine. Consumer has taken vehicle to dealer several time, but cannot determine cause. Consumer has also had ac repaired on three occassions.
