Tl the contact owns a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander. While driving at any speed, the contact heard a noise coming from the front end of the vehicle. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to jerry's Mitsubishi (443-219-9464, located at 1906 e joppa road, parkville, MD 21234) where it was stated that the warranty was expired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the bearing inside the transmission was about to fracture, which caused the noise. The technician stated that the failure was a known issue. The contact was referred to NHTSA. The manufacturer stated that the warranty was expired and that the contact was not the original owner. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
