The contact stated that when the vehicle was purchased, the contact received one key fob and the contact was informed that a second key fob had to be purchased. The contact purchased a new key fob however, the key fob could not be programmed because the software was a manufacturer only software. The contact was concerned when the software update would be available. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 14,300.
