There is a glitch in the electrical system. I have been replacing headlights constantly since I have purchased this vehicle in 2019. Last night was the final straw as both headlights went out at the same time. When I am stationary, you can watch the headlights surge when the vehicle is running. I have also had issues with the info center resetting for no reason during these glitches. No headlights at night is dangerous!!!!.

My key fog plus my emergency key fog aren't connecting or linked to my car. Even after I changed the batteries. Twice. I'm not able to unlock my door or turn on my car. I was out of town and locked my keys in the car. I wasn't able to unlock it even with the my Mitsubishi connect smartphone link. I called customer service and they weren't able to unlock it as well. So I had to get roadside assistant. I was stranded in the middle of nowhere. Hours away from home on a Sunday and all dealerships were closed.

I tried to do remote start on my car and it said that it had failed. I went out to the car to try to turn it on, and when I hit the unlock button, it would not unlock. I had to manually use the key to open the driver side door, where I was met with the instrument panel showing that the rpms, the gas gauge, and the miles per hour were all maxed out and stuck on one another. I have an infant in his car seat base was trapped in the backseat, there is no way to open the vehicle to get to the car seat base. I have only owned this car four days.
Total camera failure. Dealer tried to repair with the software update that is still showing as an open recall with my vehicle. Dealer states repair is a module, 8638a551. Dealer charged $129 diagnostic fee. Part and labor quote over $1400.
Unknown. I am buying this vehicle and it does the following: after shutting it off while in gear, it shuts off before its all the way into park. The next several starts include these problems: the drivers and media screens are out of synchronization and come up slow and even blank. They go out and I have had this vehicle even have everything go out, all lights ,ac, etc yet it stayed running. When I told the dealer, he said there was no problem so I took it to another one that wanted to replace it with another one and a different loan holder. Why, my loan is good and current. I am a very frustrated buyer and I demanded it back when I realized that the pre-sales inspection form was not completed. This started at a stoplight.

Vehicle trips the gfi on disconnect from charging. If vehicle finishes charging, no issue. If you pull the cable before completing full charge, trips the gfi. Have a prius hybrid using same charger and no issue. Have checked this with another Outlander and same issue. Unplugging it during charge cycle trips the gfi.
I am unsure of the proper name of the component with issues. There are several little issues but the main is, I believe it would be a software issue. . . Basically, on several different occasions (4) while driving at 60 mph and over, the vehicle suddenly stalled and shut off completely with no warning. The one incident which was the very first while I was driving less than 1 month ago. I was on a two lane road/freeway with another passenger in the back seat going somewhere between 60 and 65 mph. The car went completely black and everything shut down the entire vehicle, engine and all. I was in complete shock and end up scraping my front left rim on the curb I was next to, damaging the vehicle as a result. I am just recently out of my warranty and I do not have the funds to have it looked at just yet. I did inform the dealership that I purchased the vehicle from. I originally thought it was something maybe I had done to cause it. I also was completely unaware of any recalls on several of the year and model of my vehicle. When I looked up recalls on them, my vehicle has very similar issues to a lot of other cars like it that have already been recalled. I am upset because if I had known there were potential safety issues with these particular make and model car I would have not wanted to finance it, especially at the price point I have. It seems that several thousand were recalled a few months before I financed mine. Why wouldn’t I be notified that there could be potential safety issues when I was looking at the vehicle for purchase? now here we are and I don’t think it is a safe vehicle. I need to do something. . I am not sure I want to keep it honestly ! what can I do? please let me know at your earliest convenience. My vehicle shut off on a state route when I had the vehicle towed to the dealership I was informed it was the ecu. I found out a year after my vehicle was purchased, there was a technical service bulletin out in this part. I am not sure why there was not a recall sent when they knew this part could be defective and my life was put at risk by it shutting off on the highway. How is a vehicle safe when it just shuts off. This should have been a recall and not a bulletin. Please reconsider making this a recall. I would hate to see people lose their lives because of this.

Check engine light is on. My car is still under 5 year bumper to bumper warranty. My local Mitsubishi dealership closed and the nearest one is hours away. I also have a recall. I have called Mitsubishi customer service several times only to be put on hold without the ability to talk to someone to get these problems solved.
I keep getting the 4wd system service pop up and my vehicle stalls at 40 and jerks a lot.

The contact owns a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the navigational screen failed to function as intended. The contact was unable to connect the cell phone to the infotainment system or use google maps. The failure prevented the driver from safely operating the vehicle. In addition, the touch-screen icons failed to function as intended. The message "maintenance required" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the infotainment system had failed. The contact was informed that the system needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that a fix was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
I was backing out of my driveway and my camera froze and I ran into a truck that was parked behind my car. The form would not let me continue until I checked the air bags box. But I do not know if that pertains to this situation.
Driving home with no other cars around the forward collision warning goes off for no reason losing power and slowing down on it's own. This has been an ongoing situation since the car was new, I've made numerous attempts to have my local dealership look into this situation and all they tell me is to take video when it happens.

Radio does a hard reset all on its own, we lose backup camera, alerts and all safety functions that are built into the radio for adjustment. Also get collision warning stating it’s not working. Radio is no longer working. We asked the dealer and they said it’s going to be a recall very soon when we went in for an oil change.
When opertaing vehicle it my parking sensor error message was given giving false reading. I was told because of this scratch I need to replace the sensor. I think its a bad design flaw n there are charging me 800 in parts and labor even though its under warranty this can cause false reading and some one can get hurt.
For the past 3 winters since I had this vehicle when it is cold outside the vehicle starts hard or will not start at all requiring a jump. It will not shift gears, or accelerate. The battery light comes on after the vehicle is running. I have called the local dealership and was told this happens when it is cold. I was told to bring the car in and let it sit there when it's cold so they can try and re create the problems they stated the battery is fine. As of today the vehicle started to leak oil after it started hard. When I purchased the vehicle I had noticed the hood shakes and bounces when driving. I mentioned this to the sales agent and they stated it was a known issue and they would recall the hood but it was a timely process. It is unsafe to drive a vehicle that will not accelerate or change from reverse to park and then roll it is also. Unsafe to drive with oil leaking in your car I have made my vehicle available each time there is a situation the battery light comes on but has been tested at the dealership in the last 2 months this happens every time it's cold I call and they tell me itsa known issue when it's cold. When I purchased the vehicle I noticed the hood bouncing I asked the sales person about it and they said it was a known issue and they would fix it when the parts came in. I should have been more careful as it was a vehicle right off the truck.
The vehicle is not starting in 20 degree fahrenheit needing to be jumped every time it is cold. The phev has a full battery and there is gas in the tank and it has been doing this lately. Every test is coming back okay from the dealer now it says service engine.
1) 12/20/2024: took the car to a Mitsubishi dealer as the 'check engine light' was on for a few days. They erased the code but could not diagnose the cause. Returned home and could not charge the car using the same standard outlet (level 1) I used since I bought the car. The instrument cluster displayed the following (please see pic 1): a) error message 'phev system fault, service required'. B) check engine light. C) forward collision mitigation system [fcm] off warning light. D) rear automatic emergency braking [rear aeb] system off warning light. E) plug-in hybrid ev system warning light. Since 12/20/2024, I have been driving the car with these serious safety issues. 2) 1/2/2025: 'on-board charger' was replaced by the dealer. But the same error continued. Per dealer invoice, they "performed drive cycle pattern 3 and the code returned". Obviously under certain conditions, the erased code returned. 3) since mid-November, 2024, I have been noticing two different ev range mileage. Please see pic 2. My phone app showed (on 1/26/2025) a 51 mile ev range whereas the instrument cluster showed only a 39 mile range. All the errors still remain as of 1/26/2025. 4) opened a case with Mitsubishi but they are refusing to respond with updates. With so many safety issues due to 'phev system fault', I am afraid of taking the car out.
Car will drive on interstate then will be unable to accelerate on interstate warning, “propulsion power reduced” light turns on and vehicle speed decreases and car does not accelerates and loses speed. I had to stop vehicle multiple times to reset the car per advice on the internet but car continues with drastic decrease in speed on the interstate and message “propulsion power reduced. ” car is serviced as per car dealership recommendations but now car is not safe to drive on the interstate.

While driving down the highway at 70 mph, my 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander sel suddenly shut off without warning, causing the entire dashboard and instrument cluster to go dark. In a matter of seconds, the vehicle unexpectedly braked on its own, decelerating from 70 to 0 mph in an extremely short distance. This abrupt stop nearly caused an 18-wheeler behind me to rear-end my vehicle. Thankfully, the truck driver was able to swerve just in time, narrowly avoiding a catastrophic collision. The situation could have resulted in severe injuries or fatalities. During the incident, all power to the vehicle was lost. The brakes became unresponsive and impossible to press, and the steering became extremely difficult to control, making it nearly impossible to maneuver the vehicle safely. This is the fifth time my vehicle has experienced this issue, with the past three instances almost ending in serious accidents due to the car’s complete failure to respond. After a few seconds of total power loss, the vehicle inexplicably starts back up on its own and operates as if nothing had happened. Despite this recurring and life-threatening malfunction, the dealership has been unable to identify or fix the problem after four repair attempts. Each time, they’ve tried different fixes: 1. Initially, a software update was performed. 2. Next, the adas controller was replaced. 3. Then, the body computer was swapped out. 4. Now, they are attempting to replace a power distribution system. Even after these numerous interventions, the problem persists, and the dealership has no clear understanding of the underlying cause. They have viewed a video of the incident that I provided, but no actual solution has been identified. The dealership has resorted to seeking advice from other brand technicians in an attempt to resolve the issue, but to date, there is no resolution in sight. This defect poses an imminent danger to my safety and the safety of others on the road.
So my push to start has to be pushed twice in order to crank the vehicle and when I first got the car about 9 months ago it didn’t do that and about since January the computer system failed twice and it showed a message about the computer system don’t remember exactly what it said and took a 1/2 to a hour to get it to come back one.

I have 40,000 miles on my vehicle, only owner and drive 28 miles to and from work a day. The entire infotainment center is not usuable, I called the dealership I purchased it from and they said the warranty is 36,000 miles. How on a brand new car do you get 36,000 for a system that controls everything inside your car.
Multiple and random cylinder misfires. Fixed more than three times and continuously, same issue. Many issues with revving up. Safety risk while driving due to stalling.
The hood vibrates. It looks as if the hood is popped, but not actually unlatched. I had the update done on my backup camera, and now it's starting to glitch with lines that go across the whole screen. It reminds me of regular nintendo in the '90s glitching out. And having to restart the whole system.
The battery in the key fob died. Upon attempting to turn the car on, the car completely shut off. Nothing works and is completely blacked out as if the battery is dead. Jumping the car with jumper cables rebooted the system but the same thing will happen only when the battery in the key fob dies.
My car does not lock. Ive changed the battery in the key fob a few times I cant use my key fob or the actual key to unlock or lock my car. Also while im driving down the road my car lights flicker a lot. Along with all my inside lights. Ive confirmed with my mechanic thats its not the radiator causing the problem. Also my car doeant shift good and sometime jerks when I come to a complete stop and then go.
Infotainment system failed. Touchscreen does not work incurring a major distraction when trying to change to navigation or utilize android auto.

While driving or coming to a stop, the engine will shut off, the infotainment system will reboot and the car needs to be stopped, put into park if it hadn't done so and turned back on. It does this randomly and because the dealer cannot recreate it, it constantly gets ignored. We are not sure why this happens but it is extremely unsafe.
I was driving and my car brakes suddenly then all of the lights came on and the vehicle shut down. Once I got the vehicle back started the malfunction light stayed on and is still on and it says to contact your nearest dealer in which u did and was told I would receive a callback and I am still waiting on the call. It has been over 5 hours.
The touchscreen does not work. This impairs use of the hands free telephone usage, volume levels, and altering of settings. This is a known problem, and Mitsubishi has recalled it in australia. It is unsafe for any driver to not have ready access to hands free phone usage as it is well known how often distracted driving due to phones has caused accidents.
Car suddenly freezes and no system works. Won’t start, shift, whole electric system gone. Happened several times. Very dangerous and dealer has no idea what’s wrong. Can’t get anyone at Mitsubishi to respond. Only had car 6 months and it has $36,000 miles.
Entire engine and electrical system failure not corrected with new battery or $30,000 mi. Service. Once I turn car off, everything freezes up and won’t start again. Windows, steering, starter, everything locks up. Had to tow it to service 2 times in 3 weeks and they claim they can’t find problem. Dangerous!.
