One problem related to gas recirculation valve (egr valve) has been reported for the 1997 Nissan 200SX. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
In 03/01 the engine went at 69,000 miles, then 2 weeks after that the front driver axle went, 06/01 the front crank seal went, 02/02 the transmission and the clutch went along with the egr system code hose not being attached to the dash.
