1 Crankcase (pcv) problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2005

I purchased a 2004 Nissan 350z touring model in July 2004 and have put approximately 10,000 miles on it since then. The car ran out of oil in the first 5,000 miles. Since then, I have had to add, on average, around 2 to 3 quarts of oil every 3,000 miles. Several dealers insist that this is normal. My local dealer finally began a oil consumption test and noticed the car needed 3 to 4 quarts of oil after 2,000 miles. The dealer called Nissan and Nissan said that this was a known issue with the pcv valve. Nissan advised the dealer to replace the valve gaskets. I am concerned that permanent damage has already been done to the engine.
