3 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2003 Nissan 350Z

Failure Date: 12/30/2018

My 2003 Nissan 350z was exhibiting the exact symptoms of a nhsta recall number 03v455000 ( Nissan number r2202) recall. I contacted Nissan dealers and Nissan consumer affairs with my VIN and was told it didn't fall under the recall. I then took my vehicle to the Nissan dealer service department to have it diagnosed and the dealer concluded that both (2) cam position sensors and the crank position sensor, were failing and needed to be replaced at a cost to me of 378. 86 which I paid and have had the vehicle back only a few days (<100 miles) but so far seems to have resolved the issue. I again contacted Nissan consumer affairs and was told there was nothing they would do. I further explained my belief that the recall was more widespread than initially thought by nhsta and Nissan to no avail. I have spent 20-30 hours doing online research as to what would cause the issue and it all seems to lead back to the recall symptoms. I further realized that many other people experienced the same issue but can't speak as to their specific solution and therefore thought it prudent to try and bring it to the NHTSA for further study and database information. I would very much appreciate the NHTSA assistance in this matter to have the money I spent reimbursed to me by Nissan consumer affairs as I believe this repair should have been under the recall. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

4 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2005 Nissan 350Z

Failure Date: 04/29/2018

All the crankshaft senors and cam sensors failed with a total lose of power creating and very dangerous situation since I could not steer the car to a safe location. 6 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2006 Nissan 350Z

Failure Date: 09/10/2016

Issue with cam shaft sensor failure. Replaced bank 2 and now bank 1. This is a known issue according to all of the people complaining. This was part of a recall for 2003 models, but not for 2006 models. Car has 121,000 miles and runs smooth, except for the cam shaft sensor failures. It is becoming dangerous, because it is killing the engine when it trips and having that happen at 70mph on the interstate is a concern for injury.

7 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2003 Nissan 350Z

Failure Date: 02/08/2016

Car abruptly without warning dropped speed by 15 mph with the engine service light and the slip light and the etc light coming on. Almost killed by the truck behind me; he swerved to the emergency lane to avoid hitting me due to the sudden deacceleration of my vehicle. Recall r2033/r3022 describes situation. There is a campaign 03v455000 but Nissan will not honor this for my particular VIN.

8 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2003 Nissan 350Z

Failure Date: 07/27/2015

Engine stops while driving car. Engine service light comes on. Take car to garage - engine sensors are bad - had replaced. Nissan states that this vehicle VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number 03v455000 - but problem was the same - bad engine sensors. Nissan national complaint # 19620726 - Nissan says they don't have any responsibility and what is worse, don't seem to care that this is a dangerous condition. Went to google and found dozens of other citations about this problem.

9 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2007 Nissan 350Z

Failure Date: 04/13/2015

The car is not safe to drive due to the clutch being faulty. It loses pressure every now and then, and I have to pick up the clutch with my foot manually off the floor. This is very dangerous and should be recalled on all 2007 and 2008 350z's. Nissan changed the clutch slave cylinder and master clutch cylinders from 2007 to 2008, hence only these model years have this problem. People have complained numerous times and they did recall a clutch slave cylinder but even after they did that, it has the same problem. If you replace a part with the same defective part it will break down again and again. . . I've calculated how much it would cost to get a new clutch and replace all the defective parts with stronger parts that people have used and reviewed over a long period of time. It will cost me about $2000 just to get the clutch parts and installation. This is ridiculous for something that has such an important job in a car. If the clutch pedal loses pressure or goes down and doesnt come back up, you can get in a serious accident or even worse, death. Please help us 350z owners and ensure that the manufacturer provides safety in these vehicles. .

13 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2003 Nissan 350Z

Failure Date: 10/17/2010

I own a 2003 Nissan 350z, while driving at approximately 30mph, there was a sudden loss of power, and the check engine, vdc ,and slip lights all came on. Engine now runs sluggishly. The error code is p0340, which is crank sensor failure. I feel this is related to the ntsa recall campaign 03v455000, but that campaign only allows for a very small VIN range of 2003 350zs. I have read many instances of this failure and situation online. The recall should be expanded to all 2003 350zs.

15 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2005 Nissan 350Z

Failure Date: 07/23/2010

I have had 3 recent Nissan vehicles that have had serious mechanical issues, 1st 2006 Nissan murano (only owner) 2nd 2004 Nissan 350z 3rd 2005 Nissan 350z which each of these vehicles are over $30,000 and top models of manufacturer. The murano which I had to sell July 2011 due to buying a home and could not deal with the problems that it was having on a regular basis. . . . The 2004 350z I bought off a private seller, it looked good and boy was I wrong the stereo, electrical components, seats, overheating, horrible roar from the rear end, tires, windows failing, need I say more!!!!! now to the car I am currently not using due to it being in the shop for the past 3+weeks, and finally having to drive with the tech to let him witness the defect as I drove. . . . . This has been a huge headache to go through this with 3 new vehicles from 1 manufacturer, and them not accepting any responsibility for. They advised that my clutch had to be replaced and it was due to normal wear and tear. . . . . . . . I don't think so the car has approx 74000 miles I bought with 47198. In March 2011 after numerous visits and calls to dealership they finally replaced the master and slave cylinder at my request because I researched to find many complaints for the same components and troubles . I could go on but I am just f'ing sick of this crap from Nissan and I am ready to blow my top!!!!!.

18 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2004 Nissan 350Z

Failure Date: 12/15/2008

My 2004 Nissan 350z with 36,000 miles uses one quart of oil every 500 miles. My factory powertrain warranty expired January 31, 2009 (34 days ago). Nissan is not illing to 'goodwill' my complaint even though the vehicle is 14,000 miles below the factory mileage warranty of 50,000 miles and the fact that this issues began months before January 31, 2008.

19 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2005 Nissan 350Z

Failure Date: 07/05/2008

I own a 2005 Nissan 350z with 39,800 miles on it. The warranty expired on the vehicle on November 2007. I have had a total of four crank position sensor failures which cause my vehicle to lose power at highway speeds. This has been very dangerous. I have taken my vehicle to two separate repair facilities twice, and to the Nissan dealership twice. The diagnosis has been the same. This means that the sensor has now been replaced four times. I have read that Nissan altimas have had a recall for a similar problem in 2003. Since my car was purchased in 2004, I feel that Nissan did not adequately address this issue because it has now manifested itself in my 350z.

My husband and I purchased a new Nissan 350z in may 2006, and had since then multiple problems with the engine consuming oil. After multiple attempts for repair and no solution we sought the advise of a lemon law attorney. Since this time we have encountered issues with the attorney making contact with Nissan's attorney there seemed to be a problem with people returning phone calls, and nothing got resolved . Do you have any suggestion on how to resolve this problem.

22 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2005 Nissan 350Z

Failure Date: 10/29/2005

This has happened three times now. I have been driving my 350 down the highway at about 65 mph and it just stops running I can push the pedal down and nothing happens. I had it towed into the dealership the first time and they said it was the cam shaft sensor. No big deal right? well about 2000 miles later it happened again same exact thing. On my way to work in rush hour traffic the car just stopped again, and I was almost rear ended. After sitting in the fast lane for about 3 minutes the car finally started again and I got out of the way and they towed my car to the dealership again. The call came that for the second time the cam shaft sensor was bad, it was replaced again. The last time this happened I was on my way home and the car started doing the same thing. This time I smelled smoke like something was on fire. The car was towed and the call came the next day saying the cam shaft sensor went out again and that this caused the catalytic converter to brake and the beads were sucked up into the engine which caused the engine to catch on fire.
