Two problems related to brake disc rotor have been reported for the 1999 Nissan Altima. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My Altima 1999 had have a brake problem. Sometime last year, when I drove above 35 mph and stepped on brake, the steering wheel shook. I brought it to brown's fairfax Nissan where I bought the vehicle to have it checked. I was told that I stepped on the brakes so hard, therefore the rotors were damaged. Unfortunately, drivers have to make stops to avoid accidents. I was not happy with the explaination of the technician at the dealership. It does not make any sense that I have to fix the brakes if I make a quick stop to avoid accident. On the other hand I needed to fix my car. I had to take my car to a shop in falls church to fix the rotors because the estimate to fix the rotors at the dealership was so expensive. The brakes were fine after the mechanic fixed them. However, the problem has come back last month. I am writing this report to ask investigators to look at the problem.
Drums and rotors slightly out of round and caused vibration upon braking.
