She also mentioned that every time she had to shift gears they would lock and in order to continue driving she had to engage the shift release button. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who diagnosed that the gear shift needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired.
