Brake/vcs off/slip lights began flickering on dash about 2 weeks ago. Brought car into dealer on Dec 01 2010, and was advised that the master brake cylinder was leaking. Due to safety concerns, I left my car at the dealership. Currently waiting on a new master brake cylinder, the part is on nationwide backorder.
Own a 2008 Nissan Altima: we had to replace the bad master brake cylinder after only 39,000 miles, spending almost $500, 3000 miles out of factory warranty. I understand their sentra model had a recall for the same part, but not the Altima, and that there have been numerous complaints about this same issue.
