The lights are dangerously dim. They do not light up the road at all causing a major safety issue. This endangers the driver, passengers, other vehicles and pedestrians. Please issue a recall.
When driving at night the low beams do not light up the area enough to see. This is a huge safety concern.
The visibility of the headlamps at normal brightness are very dim. I have read about numerous lawsuits regarding this, including a class action, but when I have gone to the dealer with the information postcard that I received in the mail, I am told by Nissan that I am "outside of the window" to have them replaced with newer brighter lamps. Per the website for the class action lawsuit, it should be for 2013-2018 Nissan Altimas (rafael suarez, et al. V. Nissan north America, inc. , case no. . Read more...
My headlights have not been working for about 2 years. It’s $1200 to get them fixed and I heard there had been a rebate if you pay for it Nissan will reimburse you but there’s no way I can pay $1200 for headlights. My family elderly and I have spent a lot of nights heading to an hospital with dim lights. I was working where I got off at 10pm but had to quit. I’ve been pulled over for three times for my headlights. Although I really think it’s the part behind the headlight they said was bad. You can’t drive safely at night. Nissan please fix!!!.
Nissan has issued a replacement of headlights but parts are unavailable. Car is unsafe to drive during hours of darkness. I spoke with both the dealer (coggin Nissan on atlantic, jacksonville, FL and Nissan this morning. Parts were ordered in August but as of today there is no indication as to when they will be available. This is a safety issue. I cannot use this car safely between dusk and dawn.
The chrome and I had light lamp is burning it is a known issue and there has not been a recall through Nissan there's nothing wrong with that I'd like there's nothing wrong with the bulbs and there is zero visibility at night.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact called in reference of NHTSA id number: 10242160. The contact stated that the vehicles lights continuously dim. The vehicles bulbs were replaced as well as the head lamp and the vehicles failure persisted. No warning lights were illuminated the time of the failure. The vehicle was not towed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was stated both headlights needed to be repaired. The manufacturer was contacted in which the owner was told she would need to pay for the repairs. The vehicles mileage was 75,000 miles at the time of failure.
Low beam lights do not work to where you can't see 50 feet in front of you. Replaced the light bulbs and still not any better. Huge safety concern when driving at night.
Low beam lights are extremely dangerous. Cannot see at all. Must use high beam in order to see what is ahead. Had lights replaced twice and doesn't correct the issue.
My low beam lights are very dim. I can barely see at night. I have replace the light bulbs and that did not help. I have to constantly drive with high beam on but with incoming traffic I have to go back to low beam and it's like the incoming traffic is blinding me. I can barely drive the car a night due to this issue. It's been an ongoing problem with the lights. They are getting worsened by the day.
The low beam on my Nissan Altima is extremely dim. Is so dangerous to drive at night. My friend got an accident last night because of this issue. I have to use the hight beam when I'm driving at night, this is also another safety issue which affects the the other drives but we have to, otherwise we could hit somebody.
This is a known problem with 2013-2015 Altimas. The headlamp projector bowls deteriorate and do not project the light causing a major safety issue because you cannot see the road ahead. Nissan is doing nothing about it. I have had to replace the expensive bulbs twice with brighter bulbs and this did not rectify the problem. There should be a recall!!!!!.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that her front head lights failed to illuminated properly when the vehicle is in motion. The contact mentioned that the head lights are so low you not see the road. A dealer maus Nissan of new port richey 3939 us-19, new port richey, FL 34652 (727) 999-6287 was contacted and confirmed to the contact that no recalls was under the VIN. The vehicle was taken to independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed and determined that the entire head light assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that no recall was under the VIN. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000. Ck.
Very dim lights , I can not see anything in the dark.
Dangerously low headlight visibility. Replaced headlight at Nissan a month ago and still dim headlight.
Headlights are very dim to the point it's a safety issue. Only getting worse over time and it looks like I have no headlights on . Have to drive with brights on to see road and other cars can see me .
My 2014 Nissan Altima low beam head lights are becoming dangerously dim to drive at night. They have been what I believe dim for a few years, but have been progressively getting worse. To the point I feel it is now a safety hazard for me to drive at night. After doing research, I am realizing this is a common problem with 2014-2106 Nissan Altima. I guess the coating inside the projector beam light housing wears off or deteriorates preventing a good beam of light. Changing to a higher quality light bulb also does not fix this problem. Only way to fix is apparently to replace the entire light housings which from what I understand cost around $1000 from Nissan. I have seen enough comments from other Nissan Altimas with this same generation, that I feel this is an issue that Nissan should be addressing.
Low beam lighting is extremely dim making the vehicle unsafe to operate at night.
Light are on but too dim to see in from on me. Bulbs and housing has been replaced by dealership but it keeps having the same issue.
Lights are too dim and I cant see at night or early in the morning. I have changed the bulb numerous times and nothing helps. I have changed to hd and even led and nothing helps.
2014 Nissan Altima s, projector headlamp assembly is defective and in order to see at night, I must drive with my high-beams. I have contacted Nissan and they want to charge me over $200 just to "troubleshoot" the issue even though I told them about this defect. A lot of Nissan Altima owners from 2013-2018 are having this issue, yet Nissan does not issue a recall and we are expected to pay them about $1,000 for a new set of headlamp assemblies. This is a very serious safety issue. Please help us get Nissan to be responsible for this defective design and issue a mandatory recall at their expense. Thank you.
Head lights became very dim over time, even with new bulbs; eventually could only see well a few yards ahead of the car. Other cars we currently own and have previously owned have never had this problem. After searching for a solution online, had the full head light assembly replaced on both sides. This resolved the problem. Dealer did not indicate any knowledge of this problem and would not do this for free, even though this was safety hazard. Purchased the replacement assemblies from carparts. Com. Replacement was done by lexington autoworks.
Low beams you can't hardly see anything at all at night. Very dangerous.
Both low beam, headlamps in my 2014 Altima are extremely dim. I first noticed it about two years ago and has become significantly worse over time. I have replaced the bulbs with oem and high end (brighter) bulbs to no avail. The external assembly plastic is not that faded and even tried buffing it. That did not work either. It's dangerous to drive at night. It is extremely difficult to see at night unless the high beams are on.
Headlamps don't illuminate the road on low setting. Dealer first denied a problem approximately 3 years ago. Recently returned to dealer and they said we had missed the recall date, which we never received.
Lights are extremely dim. A safety hazard that has been named numerous times online. Nissan is aware and has done nothing to remedy the poor manufacturing.
I was driving on the highway and noticed that I had low visibility and could not see as far as 1 foof ahead and had to use my high beams all the way home. I assumed that it was my bulbs or battery and changed them both out. When I changed them, I noticed no change and almost hit a parked car and feel that it is very dangerous not only for me but others that have the same make and model and year of car and feel that something needs to be done because it is a safety risk.
Factory light beams where dangerously low. Visibility was close to none, often had to drive with high beams on. I thought that it was the lightbulb which was replaced and this did not fix the issue. I had to replace the entire light compartment in order to fix the issue. Looked up online that many other drivers experienced the same issue due to a thin layer in the reflector compartment that once it fades, it causes the light to not reflect properly onto the road. This manufacturer error should be looked at, as this is a major safety hazard for drivers.
It's a road hazard you can not see at night due to the low capacity of lighting on the vehicle. The low beam is not active driving with a high beam on the shines as if you had the low beam on. On a vehicle and having to call for a ride at night. The lighting system clearly has some malfunctioning. Nissan is responsible for this problem it not the bulbs it is actually the head lamps.
Low beam head lights very dim hard to see at night very dangerous in fog hard to see deer animals people try to run with high beams on but then putting other drivers at risk.
The low beam lights are so low that I have had 2 near accidents. It is unsafe in areas where there is no lighting. I wanted this to be on record in case something happens. My research indicates that this is a well known problem that the NHTSA is ignoring. My husband and my son drive the vehicles at night and I am very afraid for them. The cost to replace the part is over $1000 which is unfair since the problem is with the product. Why wait until some has a fatal crash or worse before something is done?.
Low beam lights are extremely hard to see the road. Visibility is low and dangerous. The lights worked fine when I first purchased the vehicle. Oncoming cars are flashing lights at me while driving thinking I do not have my lights turned on. This problem could be a serious safety issue if addressed ASAP.
The low-beam head lights are extremely dim. I had the bulbs replaced and cleaned the fog from the clear cover, but the lights are still dangerously dim. This apparently is because the reflective material in the light assembly has deteriorated.
Headlamp assembly of the vehicle is extremely dim. High beam works exceptionally but low beam seems to be burned out. Light bulbs have been replaced several times but there is no change is visibility. Vehicle has been taken to autonation Nissan where they concluded nothing was wrong with the headlamps. Headlamps have even been adjusted in the direction that project, but still no change in visibility. Headlamp visibility became drastically decreased while vehicle was in motion on the highway.
The lights are horrible on a Nissan Altima 2014. I have changed the bulbs 3 different times and it does not help. I am forced to drive with my bright lights on just to be able to see. This is a huge safety hazard because I am not able to drive without them on bright so it blinds the other drivers but I have no choice.
