1 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2020

Accelerating from a stop sign, about 10 feet later there was no power to the wheels. Neither reverse or forward gears worked and the check engine light came on. Engine runs normally and no abnormal noises. Ended up having to push the car to the nearest safe area and waited for a tow. This seems to be a sudden transmission failure at just over 50,000 miles the shop has quoted me $4000 to replace the transmission citing they have seen many failures on the Nissan cvt's and do not recommend repairing them.

2 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 12/03/2019

I purchased a used 2014 Nissan Altima with 58,000 miles. It drove great during test driving and on my way home which is 1 hour away from where I live. By day 2 the car began jerking around 60 mi per hr. And under. I made an appointment to have it looked at my local Nissan dealership. By day 4 on the way to the dealership the rpm would jump up to 4 and the car made a winding noise. It would advance forward quickly and then stall. All of this while driving on a major highway. I came to a place where I could pull over waited a few minutes and then tried to pull off the car would not go anywhere. I finally had to have it towed to the dealership. Nissan has yet to know what the problem is, saying it has an "unspecified code". It's been 3 days. I know there had been a recall on the cvt transmission however I don't see my vehicle VIN on the list.

3 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2017

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, there was an abnormal noise coming from under the hood. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the transmission was having a failure and drained the torque. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for a diagnostic test or repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000. Dr.

4 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2017

First time this happen I was at a light and the car just cut off. Started back up put in drive stalls out when in drive. Took it to Nissan and they told me the next day it's the transmission it needs to be replaced. At this time the car is still under warranty, they kept the car for two weeks telling me they waiting on a approval from Nissan to replace the transmission. Finally I get a call within that last week the car is ready when I get up to Nissan they tell me that the software needed to be updated and that they drove the car to make sure that it didn't stall out again at this time the car had at this time my car has 53,000 miles when all this happened now my 60000 mile warranty is up I have 63,000 miles on the car and it stalled out at me at work. The car starts up fine but as soon as you put it in drive it makes a whining noise and rumbling noise and finally get a cut off also the car when it don't stall it don't go in reverse or don't drive forward.

5 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2014

Bought 2014 Nissan Altima 2. 5 s brand new from dealer, same day noticed ticking/rattling sound when accelerating with slight vibration. Take car to dealer to get checked out on 05/24 and again on 05/27. Dealer confirmed the noise, service manager tells me noise come from the cvt transmission, but won't do anythng. I believe the cvt transmission is defective and should be replaced. It does not feel safe to drive with a transmission making strange sound. Nissan dealer would not do anything and said it's normal.

6 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2013

2014 Nissan Altima sl 2. 5 makes allot of noise and vibration when you accelerate to get up to a highway speed whether it is from the engine or transmission it is very loud inside the car! the steering wheel seems to have a lot of play in it at a dead stop with engine running by turning the wheel right to left! you also hear clunking noises turning it right to left! the fuel in the tank makes loud swishing noises sort as if I have a small ocean in my fuel tank!.
