2 Accelerator Stuck problem of the 2013 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 07/01/2019

The 7 inch central audio-visual and navigation unit periodically changes radio stations, crashes the navigation display, or crashes entirely going blank, and may or may not ask for sd card upon reboot. On one occasion the accelerator also stuck requiring the car to taken to the side of the road and turned off. Cannot be sure if the two events were related but they happened simultaneously. In the last six months the misbehavior of the central display unit has gotten worse and worse. Nissan dealer and national support are unable to find the problem or being willing to fix it. There is no escalation procedure to factory engineering and maintenance support. They will not take the elementary step to reflash the firmware or being willing to change out the unit. Multiple examples of this problem are reported online in Nissan's owner portal for this model year and the next. Despite being originally told that Nissan is trying to track cars with this known problem that Nissan refuses to address and leaving a potential safety problem unresolved.

3 Accelerator Stuck problem of the 2012 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 07/25/2017

Accelerator pedal came off mount while driving, no bolts holding pedal in place. I had to bend down to adjust pedal while driving on the interstate to get safety off the road. I am not aware of any notification of a recall to the defect. I took my car to the Nissan dealership in huntsville to have the car inspected and repaired. The service department found no bolts on the pedal assembly. I was charged $59. 94 for the service and repair. On a related note. . . Ironically I took care of a patient in the er last week who was in an accident involving their Nissan 2006 vehicle. While turning into their driveway, the accelerator stuck and the car jetted forward and ran into their tree. Their child, sitting in the backseat, restrained, struck her head on the side window and suffered a laceration to her temple region that required suturing. I gave the patient's mother this website to follow up with her complaint.

4 Accelerator Stuck problem of the 2008 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 05/31/2011

When I was driving in a high way. Suddenly my car started accelerating more and more. Then I noticed I did not have speed control of my car. I tried to stop, the car but it did not respond . I braked as hard as I could without succes. I avoided to crash other vehicles going from right to left and viceversa. I guess I avoid to crash three or four vehicles, including a big trailer. In other words, it happens to me like the last Toyota recall for gas pedal issues. I felt like the gas pedal was stucked. Finally, my car out of control crashed other car.
