I was driving down a busy road when my 2015 Nissan Altima started swerving I pulled over to find my rear passenger tire facing inwards come to find out the tow truck employee told me had just towed the exact same kind of vehicle with the same lower control arm break the week before. I see there is a service campion from Nissan but amy vehicle is not included which makes no sense because I live and have always lived in a winter state.

Vehicle traveling straight on highway at approx. 65 mph. Vehicle jerked in a fishtail manner to the left hand drivers side. I immediately pulled off the highway, discovered a completely flat tire (purchased only 2 weeks ago). Vehicle towed to dealership and was told that rear lower control arm was severely cracked, unsafe to drive. Service member also advised me that this is an ongoing issue with my vehicle and that I needed to go through Nissan USA consumer affairs since my vehicle (although the millions of issues on record) to have my repair approved. Vehicle is currently at dealership and I am awaiting Nissan USA consumer affairs to call back to address the issue. Vehicle is approx. 7k miles outside of 60k mile warranty.

While leaving a parking lot I went down a steep ramp and the right rear control arm broke I pulled over to check and the arm look rusted out.
Wheel sensor wiring needs to be fixed. I was advised this is not a common problem.
Control arm/rear suspension lower link rusted out and lost control of the car on the taconic state parkway. No injuries. Nissan has been aware of this issue since 2103. Wont replace as they state car has too many miles which has nothing to do with rusting out. It states on their website a service campaign agreeing that severe corrosion occurs in states with high road salt usage and new york is one of these states. Why isnt this a recall? shame on Nissan. Had we been alerted to this service campaign we would have had it inspected on a regular basis to avoid this mishap. Nissan also stated since the car was not totaled, they will do nothing. Please alert anyone who owns a Nissan Altima to be aware! we will be fixing this control arm at our expense as well as the other control arm at our expense so that this will make the car safe and to avoid a major accident or death. If the airbag was defective, would that matter of the mileage of the car? its a safety issue!.
My hood latch does not close like it should. The wheels are showing to have a wheel bearing problem. Pops when press on brakes and turning. Also made a big "bang" noise.
As a true and faithful customer over the last 10 years, I'm finally throwing in the towel in regards to my recent 2020 Nissan Altima sr. With only 7500 precious miles, this car has been to the dealership over five times now, within a six month period. Constant and reoccurring issue's pertaining to the vehicles steering wheel shaking, wheel alignment and tire balancing never compted by Nissan of bayshore. I've been suffering physical and mental instability from work related duties, and this was the last thing I needed. A vehicle thats unreliable and potentially poorly manufactured. I'm going on my second windshield within three months now, and this time they won't warrant any repair. So I'm stuck footing the bill, either way I'm paying. Whether it's my insurance rates going up, or having to pay for it out of my own pocket. That's insane now, come on! see it for what it really is, the vehicle is un-operable, and un-reliable. And due to my injuries, this doesn't provide resonable accommodations for my disabilities. I'll have to confer with my legal representative, in regards to this matter. Unless you can make things right by me, and we can continue to do business together legitimately. Not like the charades, that goes on at Nissan of bayshore. By far the worst experience I've ever had with the lease of a new vehicle, especially during these difficult times. I'm sure any other car manufacturer would love to have my business, and accept my money with no problems. You people should be ashamed of yourselves for putting me through this controversy. Your own representatives, can't handle the situation, just keep taking it in, and we'll fix it! instead of procrastinating, just replace the vehicle already, so I can move forward with my life. I would appreciate your acknowledgement and cooperation at this time. Thank you, [xxx] redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. My springs on both rear driver and passenger broke into pieces and popped my tires while I was driving. There was no warning I just had brakes and inspection done a few months ago, and last week while on the highway my tire basically blew apart, when examining we noticed the springs had broken and rubbed against the tires causing them to pop. Im lucky I slowed down in time we could've had a really bad accident and im so upset about it.

All 4 wheel bearings failed. Noise level increased with time and eventually changed when I was concerned with my safety. Confirmed by mechanic, that all 4 bearings were bad. Mechanic changed both front bearing first before changing back bearing to confirm failure on back wheel bearings as well. Changed bearings at about 110,500 miles. Have loved Nissan but I've had two major safety concerns with two vehicles as of late.
I was making a left turn and I heard a pop and pulled over and as I put it in park my traction control light came on so I went out to inspect what happened, checked the front normal, when to the rear noticed my driver side wheel is turned in, went under the car to look and noticed my rear lower control arm rusted and snapped off the bolt that connects it to the body.
The airbag light for the passenger side stays on which means the airbag on the passenger side will not deploy because it's not detecting any weight. Even when someone sits in it it doesn't detect weight. The tires are constantly losing air.
My left side tire is is worn all my other tires are fine anytime I turn right it makes a grinding noise and the traction control light comes on.

Bought used 2015 Altima sv 13 days ago. Brand new tires were put on before I took delivery. Three days ago, it started feeling like I have a flat tire, dragging the rubber, pulling, and swaying from rear when I park. Mpg is terrible, turns are wider, vibrates in steering wheel which worsens at higher speeds. Checked tires, saw 9 . 25 weights on pass front wheel, 2 . 25 weights on pass rear wheel, driver front wheel has glue without weights, driver rear wheel, same thing. Pass rear tire has 1/2 inch slope inside on top of tread, like it's separating. Feels like loose suspension, wobbly and out of socket. Tire guy says bad tire. Dealership says I gotta pay for alignment. I just bought the thing less than two weeks ago, with every penny to my name. Dealership sent me away, until I have money in my acct to align it. I'm a delivery driver and need to be safe, especially with covid19, I'm an essential driver, making deliveries of food and necessities to stay at home ordered civilians, to stop the spread of coronavirus in dfw, texas, ordered by judge abbot, to provide for our community. I work for several companies, providing hot meals, groceries, medicines, personal care, and cleaning supplies to college students, retirement homes residents, and families, who might not have access to these key survival necessities without the work we do.
Replaced tire after bring it to the dealership and showing them the defective tire, they then charge me 200 and some odd dollars to fix it now there's a recall on it I called the dealership they're refusing to give me a refund made me call Nissan corporate Nissan corporate response was they don't make tires.
Last week I had a catastrophic failure of a rear control arm while driving 50 miles an hour costing me 700 dollars in repair with a used part as an emergency fix. Rear passenger side. Today after having by car back the drivers side rear control arm snapped this time while driving on a road in town at 25 miles an hour. These cars are certain to get someone killed if Nissan doesn't address them. I am furious and scared to drive this vehicle. I know thousands of complaints have been made. I need something done about this.
My 2013 Nissan Altima is inoperable due to a broken corroded rear wheel suspension link. The lower arm broke while I was driving the vehicle. I immediately noticed that the rear of the vehicle started to slide almost like I was driving in icey conditions, however the roads were clear. The anti skid sensor also lit up on the vehicle control panel. Once I pulled over and looked under the vehicle, I could see the rear wheel arm was broken, causing the tire to lean heavily to the side. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop in which I was informed about the recall p9324. I was told to contact a local Nissan repair shop to get the repairs fixed under the recall. I followed the recommendation and contacted the local Nissan repair shop. After talking with a technician, he confirmed their wad a recall and I made arrangements for the vehicle to be towed there. Since then I was told by the same shop that my vehicle is not a vehicle that falls under the recall. I researched the recall and found that Nissan is campaigning to alert 2013 Nissan Altima owners located in cold weather states of the malfunctioning part do to corrosion from salt used in snow removal. I live in minnesota and purchased the vehicle in minnesota. The exact part the Nissan is campaigning to be replaced has broken due to corrosion, however, Nissan refuses to cover the repair costs and claims my vehicle doesn't fall under the recall. I do believe this broken part causes a safety risk as it occured while I was driving on a city street. The damage affected my ability to control the vehicle as the rear end was swerving due to the tire becoming detached from its original position.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contacted stated while driving about 65 mph the contact heard an abnormal noise. The contact was unable to identify were the noise came from. The was taken to marlboro Nissan (740 boston post rd e, marlborough, MA 01752 508-481-3232) and the contact was told the rear passenger control arm needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was 104,000. Bh.
I was driving straight on the highway at approximately 65 mph when the car started moving from side to side and was difficult to control. I exited the highway and had the car towed to my auto mechanic. The issue was a broken rear right control arm. The control arm completely rusted through and separated from the frame of the car.
Purchased vehicle less than a month ago and I hate it! I've had nothing but scary encounters with this vehicle. The steering wheel was not aligned and the car would drift to other lanes. God forbid the rain or snow makes a visit, the car slides uncontrollably. The steering wheel seems stiff as well. I had a wheel alignment done and the notice it's a little better but the issue is still there leading me to believe there are other issues. Clunking noise from rear while driving. Took car to the dealership 3 times until they finally decided to look further. They replaced left rear shock; however, the noise is still there. It seems as the tires and steering wheel are off. Also, when turning right I can hear a clunking noise. I put car in park turned steering wheel left and there was no noise. Turned to right and the noise present.

The rear arm rods rusted out and snapped off while driving on a city road.
My suspension broke off the frame of the car while moving on a turn after being at a complete stop making a left. The rear driver side detached from the frame making the car unmovable and bending the tire almost at a 90 degree angle.
I've been having this clacking noise in the right rear of my car. I went to 2 auto repair places to try to identify the problem. Every time I went over a bump in the road on the right side. . . Click clack, click clack. Finally, diagnosed as crack in control arm. It is at kelly Nissan now. I do have a bumper to bumper warranty from warranty direct. However, I am hoping that Nissan will fix at no cost to me, since this is an ongoing problem with this make and model. I was told I shouldn't be driving the car because it was too dangerous. Also, I reported this to Nissan . I hope no one gets injured due to this defect. I was lucky.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact had his right rear control arm repaired by an independent mechanic. While driving on the highway at 40 mph the front driver's side tire fell off. The driver was able to skid to the side of the road. A police officer observed that the lug nuts may not have been tightened enough to properly secure the tire. The inside of the rim was inspected by the police officer when he made his observation of the vehicle. The bumper, the quarter panel the sub frame the alloy wheel, the left front suspension control arm assembly and the left front drive shaft assembly were all severely damaged. The vehicle was totaled by the contact's insurance company and towed to a referred body shop. There were no injuries and no police report filed. The failure mileage was 173,663. Tf.
The rear suspension on our vehicle detached unexpectedly and without warning while we were driving. The vehicle was driving straight on a city street. Thankfully no one was injured. Once the vehicle no longer in motion it was apparent that the rear control arm / rear suspension had detached from excessive rusted. The vehicle is a 2013 with no outer body rust. It seems like this could be a defect as well as a significant safety issue.
Rear control arm rusted through and broke. Rear undercarriage all rusted through.
Just bought car, they did not tell me car was in accident, tried working with them, suleman said I signed paperwork, there not responsible , if I turn car in, only drove car maybe 25 miles since I have had, still do not have paperwork on this car, never recieved any as of yet, but they made sure was registered, have no agreement , not sure what payments are, also was told I have tires and wheels and I dont, I am a woman and dont know much about this, but know when something is wrong, what can I do with this purchase, as I said I have no paperwork to even look at.
I was driving to work and on a highway, ready to get onto a major interstste rt295n in NJ. I was going aprox. 45 mph when the car started pulling drastically to my right,I thought I had a flat tire. Pulled the car over to inspect, and my rear passenger tire was not flat but bent as if it was coming off. I had to have the car towed to a mechanic where he confirmed the yes in fact the tire was coming off! he said if I drove much further I would have lost my tire it was hanging by a rusty thread!! upon further inspection he note the whole rear subframe is rusted out and I needed not one but both lower control arms replace because the drivers side was about to separate also. This is going to cost me big buck along with a rental car,as this is not something insurance will cover. Apparently therre have been many issues with this model/year car exactly the same as my incident. There was no warning nor previous symptoms to this happening. I could have benn hurt or kiled not to mention someone else near me on the road! I have included pictures.
I was on my way to work at 6:15am. The control arm broke while I was moving at 65 mph on the highway. The car become extremely difficult to control, as if I were sliding on ice, however it is June 2019. I was lucky that I wasn't injured or killed. There were no cars near me, so I pulled over. It would seem to me that the steel control arm had metal fatigue or some other sort of defect. I am 60 years old, and have never had this happen with any other car. The car does have 165,000 miles on it, all highway. This should not happen with a 2013 model year. I feel that the Nissan products are not safe.
I was driving my 2013 Nissan Altima on a busy city street and lost control of steering ability due to the right rear control arm that was completely rusted and broke apart. My vehicle had to be towed and this part had to be replaced.
I was driving my vehicle about 25 mph leaving work when I heard a thud/clunk from the passenger side rear of the car. The traction control light came on, I pulled over and looked at the car. I though I had a flat because the car had been handling 'oddly' for about 30 feet. I didn't see a flat, drove the remaining mile home and when I saw the car in the driveway the passenger rear tire was at an angle to the car. It was pointed to the right, while the other tires were aligned straight forward. I called my local Nissan dealership and they told me to not drive the vehicle, as they had one in last week with similar conditions (same year, same model) roughly same mileage. They arranged for a tow truck to pick up the vehicle and drag it onto the bed of the truck. They diagnosed that the right rear control arm had failed, causing the tire to disconnect from the control arm while I was driving. I requested that they check remaining control arm suspension components and they confirmed that the driver's side until was also cracked, but not completely broken through as yet. The Nissan manufacturer rep visited the dealership and stated that the repairs were due to rust, causing both control arms to fail, therefore not covered under warranty in place. The vehicle had fewer than 89,000 miles on it when the components failed, there were no indications of any problems previously, and the car was in the dealership three week's prior due to a transmission replacement. This is my sixth and last Nissan vehicle I have had no prior events like this with my other Nissan vehicles. This part failed without any warning, luckily at low speed in my own neighborhood 1 mile from my home.
Without warning. . . I was reversing into my driveway and I heard a loud pop. When I exited the vehicle to take a look, my rear control arm snapped and dislocated the wheel. I am thankful this didn't happen twenty minutes before while on the taconic state parkway driving at highway speed (55 mph). The car needed to be towed to my mechanic.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the vehicle had two dry rotted tires and there was an oil leak. The vehicle also failed the emissions test. Dal motors (3915 covington hwy, decatur, georgia 30032, 678-705-9350) showed the contact the emissions papers, which indicated that the vehicle passed; however, it was discovered that the vehicle had not been tested. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact filed a claim with the federal trade commission. The failure mileage was unknown.

While driving at high speeds 55mph a clunk was heard while in a turn, and the lower right end of the car sank down. The steering went completely crazy and out of control. I had to slow down to 20mph for the entire 30 mile trip home. This was the second time this happened in the last 2 months. The first time was back in January 2019 when the left one broke and almost caused me to wreck again! and now I see there is a federal investigation about this exact thing.
My control arm snapped while I was driving, due to corrosion. I was driving down a city street into a parking lot.
