Wife was driving and gas gauge showed 1/8 tank. Vehicle almost ran out of gas on her. She made it to gas station on fumes. Also, had it happen the other way around not long after first issue. Gas light came on so she went to get gas. After filling vehicle up she found that the tank had 6-7 gallons of gas left in it. It seems fuel sending unit is bad / faulty in this Armada as well as many others. Vehicle (gas gauge) could lead her to believe she has gas and then she could run out of gas somewhere.
My 2005 Nissan Armada has the problem described in NHTSA #10v-074. Nissan claims my vehicle is not part of the recall even thought the recall is for 2005 - 2009 Nissan Armadas. It is very frustrating to have a safety problem, learn that the manufacturer is aware of it and has a recall, but to be told that it doesn't apply to your vehicle. Clearly it does, because I have the exact problem described, "issue can cause the fuel gauge to show that the vehicle still has some fuel, typically about one quarter tank, when fuel tank is empty. ".
Was driving on major highway and vehicle stalled in inside lane and would not restart, fuel tank read 1/4 tank and was actually empty per service ticket from Nissan dealer that it was towed to. They would only give me some of the money I spent because my vehicle was not on recall list, my wife could have been seriously injured and local dealer was of no help when other people that I know personally have had there vehicle repaired fro free according to Nissan web site 2005 Armadas are on recall list but they keep saying mines not included, all I want is to be treated farily.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that the fuel gauge was reading inaccurately and caused the vehicle to stall while she was driving approximately 70 mph. The driver immediately added gasoline to the fuel tank. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic who informed the contact that she needed to replace the fuel sender unit. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled while stopped and the fuel gauge indicated that there was a quarter tank of gas. The contact called the manufacturer who stated that the vehicle was not included in recall 10v074000 (fuel system, other: storage: fuel gauge system). The dealer inspected the vehicle and stated that they would assist with some of the repair costs; the fuel sending unit was defective. The vehicle had not been repaired. The current and failure mileages were 110,357.
2005 Nissan Armada fuel gauge is not accurate and causing my Armada to ran out of fuel in the mid of highway speed at 65mph. The fuel gauge saying I have 1/4 tank left as the car shutdown in the busy 65mph highway traveling, very close call on accident. Took the SUV to mossy Nissan of houston, I was told there's no recall on my SUV VIN specific. I was told there's a recall 2005-2009 but on VIN # specific only.
