The vehicle was taken to the dealer who verified the failure, and although they could not diagnosed what caused the problem they stated that the wiring harness needed to be replaced. He also stated that the roof, plastic, dashboard, and seats were damaged and blackened. The security at the hotel he was at called the fire department. An investigator stated that the fire was caused by a manufacturer's defect in the wires. The insurance company declared that the interior was totally damaged. A security report was filed.
