The front passenger airbag was shut off due to an electrical issue in the front passenger seat. I have attempted to get this fixed for over three months. I am driving around with no airbags in my car as the warning lights for the entire system is on and per the manual this indicates that in the event of a collision no airbags will deploy. The Nissan dealership has advised that the part at the manufacturers warehouse were all defective and that they have to have the part made in japan to be replace. Really!! I have been given the run around on this since day one. I have noticed recalls on other Nissan vehicles for similar issues but not for the Armada. I have paid 35,000+ for a defective vehicle to no avail!!.
Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Armada. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, when she rear ended another vehicle. The contact stated the front driver side air bags did not deploy to full capacity. The contact stated her wrist was swollen, but did not seek any medical attention. A police report was not filed. The contact stated she continued to drive the vehicle but within a short distance had to stop due to the temperature gauge began to rise. The contact stated she was able to park on the side of the road. The contact stated saw smoke exiting the hood. The vehicle was not driveable. The vehicle was towed to her residence. The vehicle was seen by an independent mechanic and was informed there was a transmission fuel leaking, needing to replace the radiator and detached the air bag. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic shop and was made aware of the failure. The contact recently received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 20v188000 (air bags). The vehicle was taken local dealer keating Nissan located at 333 interstate 45 s, conroe, TX 77304, (936) 230-5083, and was made aware of the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired as of yet. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 90,000. Dp.
On March 12, 2022 the supplemental air bag warning light came on in my vehicle. Nothing new has happened. When I looked in my manual that came with the vehicle it stated it needed servicing. It is flashing intermittently. If not checked and repaired it may not function properly. I have not received any recall on this issue, however, this appears to be a manufacturer issue.
