Went to start my vehicle and everything but the engine would start. Tried for several minutes, locked, unlocked car then left it alone for 5 minutes and it finally started. Then, less than a week later, while I was driving, the bci malfunction warning and a bunch of other lights came on and car slowed down significantly. Had to pull over, look up this warning and follow directions others who had this same issue did. I turned vehicle off, waited a minut and turned it back on. Warning cleares. The next morning my car wouldn't start. Had to swap cars with husband so I could get to work. This morning I tried to start it again and it wouldn't start. I've now been waiting 3 hrs for a tow truck to get vehicle. Vehicle has less than 40k miles and is a 2017 model.
While driving, the brakes will engage involuntary and most the lights on the dashboard light up. A message bci malfunction appears. Car can not accelerate at a safe speed until car is parked and restarted. Sometimes it will not start up immediately, leaving the occupants of the vehicle stranded.
While driving at rate of 45 miles per hour in the city of oxnard, CA in my 2017 Nissan Armada sl, the car started to immediately slow down to a speed of 5 miles per hour, which almost caused an accident. The antiskid and 4x4 lights and check engine light came on, but the car could not accelerate. I had to pull over to allow traffic to continue. After waiting for several minutes with the car off I restarted the car and then drove as normal. I took the vehicle to get looked at, but the technician couldn't determine the cause using diagnostic equipment. The car continues to drive normal, but then stalls and the same issue arises.
The brake light and slip indicator turn on and the brakes do not work. There is nothing in the manual that explains what this means other than potentially low brake fluid. We checked the brake fluid level and it was halfway, we filled it up and the issue did not go away even after driving it. When you turn the vehicle off and start it back up the brake light turns off leaving only the slip indicator on but no explanation as to wha the issues are regarding both systems. After carefully testing the system we found that the brakes are in fact failing and the vehicle is not stopping.
Vdc off.
As I was leaving with passengers from store was getting on street heard a loud noise like hit something from underneth vehicle. Went away as traveling was hearing a scrapping noise from passenger side rear. Then got louder like something was about to bust like metal to metal grinding, scratching, popping. Noise rear passenger.
Driving on slightly wet road. Started sprinkling for about five minutes. It was driving fine then on the road to my house in the city. It's windy and I was going maybe 10-15 miles an hour and it started spitting out like I was in snow or sleet I almost lost control. So I put I stopped and then I barely press on the gas it would start swerving again. Even at less than 5 miles an hour. I had to go super slow how there was like there was no traction at all or no steering control. No lights came on or anything. Prior to that it was driving perfectly fine. I want to say it kind of felt like the left side had no traction for some reason but I don't know. It just felt weird like I was driving a seadoo.
My Nissan Armada only has 67k miles on it like brand new it all of a sudden just lost all power I drove it the night before no issues then the next morning there were 3 lights on which were the vdc, slip, and the check engine light. Also, the trunk on the vehicle doesnt unlock when you hit the button neither does the glass lift door I have to climb in thru the vehicle get inside the trunk and take cover off of the emergency release and hold down lever while someone from the outside opens the door for me while im inside holding the lever down. The loss of power is the main issue here what if I was on the interstate or something and that happened.
I bought my veh on 2/7/18 after purchasing and getting home several days later while driving down the hwy the lift tail gate started to open and my dashboard started to ding but there where no warning lights. I had to pull off hwy really quickly to deal with this issue. Then again on 2/20/18 the lift gate did this again 2 times while driving down the road. Went to dealership and they said before the second incident it wouldn't happen again. This has scared me both times of how dangerous this is. I have turned this into Nissan twice and have still not heard from anyone when it was turned in on 2/14/18. I had the dealership check the veh on 2/13/18 and they found a defect in the bar that operates this lift and also a sensor issue that controls the electrical function and also a defect in the motor on the veh. They said after the first time that the veh was safe for me to drive without it happening again and they were wrong as it had happened 2 times after that. Neither time was any button pressed to open the lift gate the veh was moving on the road.
Own a 2006 Nissan Armada le. Started my truck and the brake, vdc, slip, and 4wd lights lit up on the dashboard. Thought it appeared because it was getting cold. Drove a couple of blocks down a city a street and heard a loud grinding noise when the brakes were pressed and the truck jolted a little bit. After another block, lights went away and didn't have more any issues on the way home. When I got home, turn the truck off and restarted the truck, no lights. Did a google search and read many issues relating to this. A couple a days later checked the truck, on start-up. . . No lights, then when I put it in drive, the same lights lit up. Took it to the dealership, lights were lit, brakes engaged, and speedometer was fluctuating and then didn't move. When I arrived at the dealership, speedometer activated again when the truck was put in park. Nissan dealership did a diagnostic test and the advisor indicated both the ecm and abs actuator assembly were fried and needed to be replaced, $3,100 to start out with. Truck is still at the shop, no work has started. Notified Nissan customer relations since there is a known issue, waiting to hear back. Also called another dealership to see what they could tell me and it was mentioned that there is a known issue. Called the service dept. Back the next day and talked to another advisor, the advisor indicated since there are some are hard codes (u1000, u1001) displayed with the ecm and abs assembly, the systems potentially need to be replaced.
Brakes, at about 65mph car shakes violently, tv in the middle sounds like its falling out, engine turning over but not starting.
I've called sterling mccall Nissan of houston in fort bend county (281)243-8989. I have been waiting for two weeks for the recall parts to come in. Why does it take so long for parts to come in. I'm told that there is no estimated time of arrive which is ridiculous. Thanks, shawn martell, 832-687-7931.
When you're driving, the car suddenly stops for 5 seconds the breaks to stop it constantly not to , one day we went to big bear and star down to fail and we will not put much attention after we arriived and we try to take to Nissan in los angeles but now the car if you ar driving the car stop or you push the break to stop and dont work to stop , in the freweey not stop the break for little distancie crash went the other car.
The vehicle has been repaired 22 times. Issues ranged from computer to steering issues. On more than 1 occasion, the vehicle has been at the dealership being repaired for three weeks of more in a single month. During a recent road trip, the vehicle was hard to control on the road; the steering would difficult to keep the vehicle in the lane during turns, while on the highway and could not drive at highway speeds. My steering wheel is not straight, even after the recent wheel alignment when they discovered that I did not have cambers installed on the front end. The Nissan dealership where I purchased the vehicle never assisted me, and now Nissan is offering to repurchase the vehicle, but would like for me to pay them $18k. I and my family are completed exhausted with this matter, especially after our trip that should have taken 20 hours took us 26 hours, due to the condition of the vehicle. Whenever I have to drive somewhere it must be a short distance, since I have no trust that the vehicle will not be involved in a collision, due to the issues with the vehicle. Also whenever driving, my hands are always shaking, since I am afraid to drive the vehicle. Additionally, I do have all of the repair records to prove the issues, and repairs done to this vehicle.
Original odi #10745373 - 11/19/2010 still unresolved. Review of nc dmv - 340 (rev. 3/2001) with insurance company, insurance affiliated collision repair shop and Nissan of north America confirmed acknowledgment of rotor/ brake damage during repairs. The collision repair shop and (Nissan)modern service mgr. Both internally notated the issue until the claim was confirmed by a Nissan service tech (5936) on 12/21/2010 during a collision re-inspection. Front/ rear brake pad replacement has not resolved the rotor issue confirmed during 2010 repairs. Brake pads were not worn to require replacement during inspections to address concerns. The Nissan edr issue has remained unaddressed by the insurance company while Nissan has provided all warranty/ recall services for the vehicle from 2006 to the present. Geico has provided a guarantee of all losses related to collision on 12/07/2010.
My Nissan Armada brake light comes on and the car starts braking on its own without me pushing on the brakes . And sometimes the vdc light also comes on . I will be driving on the road and suddenly the brake light comes on and the car starts braking on its own without me pushing on the brakes and then the vdc light also comes on . There is a defect in this car that needs to be investigated . My Nissan Armada 2006 is not safe to drive and there is a manufacturers defect in this make and model.
1. Vehicle front suspension felt loose when driving over some bumps on road, almost lost control happened while driving 45mph and at 65mph unsafe to drive. 2. Fuel gauge sometimes not reading correct amount of fuel showing half tank when almost empty could get stranded. 3. Compresor for airshocks on rear leaks causing unsafe driving.
Wife was driving on dry pavement, approaching turn. Brakes gave a grinding sound and failed almost completely. She was barely able to make the turn and enter a parking lot where it eventually slowed to a stop.
Was traveling on a residential road approaching a stop sign. Attempted to apply the brakes and the pedal went straight to the floor. I pumped the brakes and turned the vehicle to the right as I went through the stop sign with very limited braking power. Luckily, no one was in the intersection and the vehicle eventually stopped on the side of the road. The brake and the vehicle dynamic control warning lights were both illuminated on the dash and I placed the vehicle in park. I pumped the brakes several times while the vehicle was in park and the pedal still went straight to the floor. I took a photo of the warning lights and contacted my dealer. I am still working through the next steps with the dealer.
I have had an issue with brakes and lights coming on that says vdo ,antilock etc: when driving the SUV at lower speeds and you try to apply the brakes the whole front end starts shaking and grinding and it is impossible to stop. I have replaced brakes, rotors , wheel hub bearings and still have this problem. It is scary when you can't stop a 7,000lb vehicle! I am in fear of an accident . I have read of others having the same problem. Sometimes when running hyw speeds a lot of lights come on and dingers and this has been happening since I bought the Armada. I want to know what Nissan is gonna do about this problem cause it seems I am not the only one having these issues. I have already had to replace the right rear hub assembly 2 times and they are not cheap. I feel Nissan does not want admit they have a problem. I think this needs to be a recall . Since I have had this vehicle I have not received anything from Nissan to address these issues. I pray they will recognize and see to it that these things are fixed and help us the consumer feel safe driving down the highway. I have 3 young children who ride in this Armada. Please help !!.
While driving in traffic, went to apply brakes to stop, vehicle shuttered and it seemed as though the anti-lock brakes were engaging. But the roads were not slippery or wet, no snow or ice on roads. It seemed as though the brakes were not gonna stop the vehicle in time, swerved over hit the curb to avoid accident. Had vehicle towed, vdc. Anti slip & brake lights were illuminated at this time. Paid tow bill, paid dealer replace brake booster, wheel sensors, brake pads, rotors and two times for labor rate to try and diagnose issue. After dealer failed to admit there was an issue, but continued to just replace parts. I finally carried it to a local mechanic, he explained Nissan has an issue that they are not recalling. The only temporary resolution is to unhook the battery when it appears. Sadly, I feel Nissan has profited from thousands of customers relying on the dealerships knowledge that has not been informed by Nissan mfg. Of how to resolve this issue. I believe a recall is needed immediately!!!!!.
2004 Nissan Armada has a brake problem. The brake light comes on while driving. I have to turn off truck and turn it back on to reset break light. If I use brakes when light is on the abs does not work, it makes a springy crunching noise when brake is pressed. The pedal went down so easily when it did this. Listen. Help. I understand that the problem is the call: "brake booster "or "master brake cylinder "is expensive and I check online and notice that many peoples already has this problem and not only 2004, also2005, 2006,2007 ! Nissan shall have this in re-call such that's very dangerous I tock the suggestion that write to this very important website thank you !!.
The incident has happened twice already once while driving and going about 35 miles per hour. The 2nd while sitting in a drive thru. While slowing down for the light, it felt as the brakes gave out. The brake pedal did not have any pressure in them and gave this loud crunching sound. Also sounded like a spring moaning. Immediately the brake light came on as if I had my emergency brakes on. I was in a panic and swerved to the side of the road not to rear end the car in front of me. This continued until after I completely turned off the car, let it sit then turned it back on. The light went off and the brakes worked as normal. The 2nd time I was in a drive thru moving forward and the brakes seem to give out. Crunching sound, brake light and only went away when I turned the Armada completely off and then on again. After researching the problem online it appears that many other people are experiencing the same problem. This Armada, my wife drives to work every day back and forth. We can¿t afford another car and I fear for her safety and the cars around her. Here is a link of just some of the people having the same issue. . Read more...
The vehicle dynamic control (vdc; aka stability control system), abs, brake, and 4x4 lights intermittently illuminate. At times, this is accompanied by failure of the speedometer. When illuminated, the vdc is switched off for certain, the 4x4 will not engage, and most likely the abs will not function properly. A search online (just look for Nissan abs/vdc lights) reveals that this is a very common problem across virtually all Nissan vehicles equipped with these systems, and that there have been multiple causes of this failure. Some solutions have ranged from recalibaration of various sensors to replacement of abs actuation modules ($1,000+ part). Many even report the problem occuring very shortly after purchase (I. E. While driving home from the dealership with only 15 miles on the vehicle), or within the first 30,000 miles. If the afflicted systems were to fail during an emergency situation, or even simply in poor weather conditions, it could easily result in loss of vehicle control resulting in an accident. It appears to be a systemic issue with multiple vehicle components being poorly manufactured, or poorly installed (some have reported loose ground screws from the factory as a root cause, or various speed/abs sensors installed on each wield being installed in such a way that the wires become chafed or damaged). I have been unable to find any TSB or recall data on this issue, but considering the costs for repairs that should not be needed, wide-spread frequency of this issue, and above all, the potential for serious damage or injury, there absolutely should be.
Brakes on 2005 Armada went out and started to grind and stick, could not duplicate after re starting vehicle and mechanic cannot get it to duplicate as well costing me money to have checked out each time it happends not the first time replaced pads the first time and re-occurs more often now very unsafe never know when brakes will engage sometimes drag without being applied.
While driving, the following indicator lights came vdc, abs and brake. When I applied the brakes, there was a horrible grinding noise which scared me to death. I continued on cautiously and fortunately it did not make the same sound the next time I braked. The Nissan service department said it was a sensor that went bad and the abs brake system that possibly was bad. I paid over $500 to get it fixed and had to sign an agreement that what they did may not fix it, and if so, the brake booster would then need to be replaced at a cost of $1000. I found out afterwards that there had been a recall of the very same issue but not on my vehicle because the VIN did not match the recall. Very suspect.
While driving at 50mph or higher, normal highway speed, it feels the car is kindly floating on the road and does not has a firm contact with the surface, on a perfectly sunny dry day. The feeling is like having tail spin a little. I've been having this experience ever since it was new, and in addition, the alignment is off from new, 1000-2000 mile new, and I always have to pull to the left to compensate. I went to dealer and reported this around 10k/15k miles, and they recommended alignment, and we did. However, problem persist. Just yesterday, the rear axle just gave up and broke. I took it to the dealer for warranty service, but they refused and accused that the car's been in collision. No, no accident/collision whatsoever! and no there's not any physical damage to the tire and rim. Rather, I believe this is a defect from the manufacturer.
Symptom: Nissan vehicle looses braking ability when this symptom happens. Brake light comes on the dashboard, brake pedal goes all the way to the floor, and there is grinding noise from the front end toward the wheels. Vehicle braking ability is reduced to 10% or less. Turning ignition off/on resolves for short time, but not a permanent fix. Nissan has TSB ntb06-040 to clear the code c1179 from brake module. I had preformed at my cost and issue came back. Called Nissan and opend a file number 7181591, but they are blaming it on me, not the flaw that is happening to 100's of other Armadas including me. I am requesting safecar. Gov to probe Nissan about the brake issue that is affecting 2004 Armada, titan, and infinity qx56 and to find out if they are doing anything to fix it. . Read more...
Brake failure on 2004 Nissan pathfinder Armada: there is a known issue that Nissan is not doing anything to prevent accidents from catastrophic accidents due to failure of abs system. They have a TSB ntb-060 out and dealer would re-flash the abs system to fix the issue for an hour labor charge. I had this happen to my Armada on 1/26/2011 and found 1000's of user wth issue on different discussion fourms on the internet. I am filing this complain to make sure Nissan USA will take this matter seriously. Symptom if issue: brake light comes on, brake paddle will go to the floor and spring cracking noise comes from front end. Brake does not work 95% to the capacity. Nissan dealer will try to sell a new brake booster pump for $1000 if customer is not aware this is a known issue with 2004-2005 Nissan Armada, and titan. I had my baby in the back and had to drive 5 miles to home with non existing brake. Please follow through Nissan to make sure they take care of issues so it does not happen to other people and lives are lost due to a defect that manufacturer should recall. . Read more...
Original complaints filed July 31st and October 22, 2015, respectively. A response has been received from the insurance company regarding their decision of supplemental repairs, odi #10745373 and #10781329, as it relates to the vehicle safety determination after the collision loss in November 2010. I forwarded the dmv-349 and additional documents by mail to the NHTSA address provided previously.
My husband and I were driving back home and our Nissan Armada breaks failed. Senor lights flash on and off all the time. Clicking sound when driving parked etc. Horrible sound from under vehicle, as I'm driving. Steering wheel shakes even after a wheel alignment. City streets and highway. I have taken the car to Nissan and they just brush it off and say there is nothing wrong with the car take it for a long drive.
Brakes on SUV have failed to work as designed on multiple occasions due to non-mechanical issues. Problems may stem from electrical or sensor issues. The brake light indicator displays on the dashboard and the SUV automatically locks up the brakes. The problems has been duplicated with a repair technician but they cannot find the source of the problem.
Since 2006 the brake light comes on while driving I have to pull to side because I lost my brakes and I have taken to Nissan dealer and they have adjusted the delta stroke sensor. I have been doing this for many years into my warranty expire. And know the want to replace the power booster. Know they are said delta stroke sensor on the brake power booster is not getting proper voltage. They are many Nissan Armada with the same problem. I am ones of the lucky persona have got on an accident. I believe Nissan are responsible for the problem. I believe nisan is responsible to recall all Armada from 2005 to present.
