On the listed date above our family was on en route to our vacation destination, traveling in our Armada with camper in tow. While going thru the mountains in virginia we had lost all power to our transmission causing us to pull over onto the shoulder of the expressway. After some time we where finally able to get towed to a dealership in covington. As soon as the service manager looked at the vehicle he new exactly what had happened. He explained that the tail pipe had disconnected from the muffler and that the hot exhaust burned up the wire harness that controlled all the power to the transmission. This they had seen and fixed 4 to 5 times at this dealership. My complaint is that the piping from the muffler some how eroded away and disconnected allowing the exhaust to burn up the wire harness, as well as the hose that supplies the compressed air to the air shocks. This to me is a very serious safety issue. Fortunately we were in the right hand lane and no other vehicles were near to cause a potential accident. We were able to get over safely although we had lost all transmission power going up this mountain. Not sure if anybody else has reported this safety issue. But Nissan must know about it based on the service manager seeing this that many times. Why would one have your electric wiring running so close to a potential hot source that could disable your vehicle while driving? I recently was talking to a coworker who has a 2004 Armada and told him about what happened to us. He had said that he just had his tail pipe welded back on but had it done at a muffler shop so this was not documented at a dealership. He had said that he could smell something burning but he had no other issues. He was lucky and he may want to check it out because of the experience that I had. Please look into this because I feel it is a serious safety issue.
I needed to stop and my brakes wouldn't work completely. They slowed me down a little but did not function completely. The pedal pumped up and down made a weird noise and the brake light came on. If I had been traveling at a faster speed and been following closer, I would have wrecked.
Overhead console at the front (sunglasses holder) fell from console. The clips broke and it fell while driving. (approximately October 2011). We fixed the problem on our own. About the same time, the rear overhead console came loose, and was partly hanging from the ceiling. The clips were broken, and we used bolts to hold it back in place, but summer 2012, the rear console compartment fell while driving and hit our son. He was uninjured, but he wasn't sitting directly under it, where he could have caused minor injuries. Cannot find a replacement part without going through Nissan and paying $1,000+.
While driving approximately 25 mph, I applied pressure to the brake pedal and the brake pedal fell to the floor. We had no braking power at all. I heard a grinding noise coming from the brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technicians stated they could not find a problem. The vehicle was not repaired. This has happened three times already and this is a real saftey hazard!!!!! one of times it happened at 40 mph what if I cant stop the next time it happens who is going to be responsible for this.
Safety issue with driver's side floor mat on a Nissan Armada. The grommet that's supposed to hold the floor mat in place ripped and now the floor mat no longer stays in place. I was told by Nissan dealership to call Nissan USA, which I did. They said b/c my vehicle is out of warranty they can't replace the floor mat. This is an issue b/c the floor mat keeps sliding towards the foot pedals and could get trapped there, thus limiting my breaking ability.
My 2004 Nissan Armada pathfinder is making a weird clicking noise when I turn the steering wheel. I am also know finding out that there are some recalls out on the vehicle that the company has never sent me info on.
Previously reported under complaint #odi id number : 10339985. A summary of the problem:the issue/problem: the brake light comes on. When brakes are used, there is decreased braking power. The brakes make a crunching, springy noise with the pedal being extremely soft until it gets closer to the floor and begins to give braking power. When ignition is turned off, the problem resolves at least temporarily. When the engine has turned off, I have had the problem reoccur as soon as 5 minutes and as long as 31 months. . Read more...
I was driving one day with my 3 kids in the car and the vdc slip and brake light came on out of no where. I contacted the dealer and I brough the vehicle in to have it checked after paying for them to diagnosis it they said they found nothing wrong with it. The light continued to ccome on several times and each time I would take it in and they would say nothing was wrong. One particular day I was driving with my 3 kids and I went to stop and the brakes began to do a pulsing action and sounded as though they were grinding and the car would not stop. I started to cry and panic because I had all of my kids in the car and had no idea what to do so I put the car in neutral and let the car roll and just pulled away from traffic as much as I could. Finally I pulled into a parking lot where I hit the breaks and emergency break to make it stop. I placed the car in park and was terrified to drive after that so I contacted the dealer and asked if I could bring it in immediately. Once at the dealer I was told again nothing was wrong and that my brakes were fine and they did not find anything. The same thing happen to me 2 more times and still no one seems to find anything wrong. My brakes have been replaced and each time I press on them I am terrified that the car is not gonna stop. The brakes always feel as though they aren't gonna stop and they have an uneasy feeling when you press them. I cannot claim the car as a lemon because I bought it used with 29,000 miles which is not alot. I feel that there is a defect in the brake system for the Nissan Armada because my car did not have alot of miles when this started and it is still having issues.
Well I thought that I was purchasing a really good and safe vehicle at first, but now I am finding to almost doubt myself. . . . Well I have been driving my Nissan Armada for about two months now and it used to get me to work and back home on a daily basis. It is also used to take me and my children to the doctors etc. I had felt this vibration in the truck and steering wheel and I did not think it was anything until it started to get worse as the days progressed. If I go over 30 mph and have to slow down the vibration is real minor. If I go over 35 mph it takes longer to stop and the vibration gets worst. I have called up the dealer to try to get this problem fixed and they told me that I have to make an apt. And just wait to see if they can fix it. . . So far no call back of any kind.
The vehicle's home-link system failed. The consumer stated that the memory seats for the driver does not work. A vibrating noise was heard from the heat shield from the exhaust manifold. Vibrating noise heard from the interior courtesy light lens. The liner on the roof passenger liner is separating. Tire pressure sensor malfunctioned. Rotors warped on the front brakes as a result of inadequate size to the vehicle and inadequate venting which resulted in overheating. The consumer can not control the vehicle when braking from high speeds. The consumer heard a booming noise from the passenger compartment. The consumer stated that there is a problem with the radio reception. Cracks developing in the engine compartment heat shield. Headphones for the dvd system where not provided.
We purchased our 2004 Nissan Armada 1 may 2004. The driver's side window has been nothing but trouble since the purchase. It will come off of the track everytime you put the window down. The first time it happened we took the vehicle back to the dealership in nashville. Thet did not want to help us until I absolutely threw a fit because the window was stuck down. Then not even a week later it happened again. I called the local dealership in clarksville. I was told that they would not be able to fix it because the other dealership had already worked on it. So, I proceeded to call the dealership in nashivlle. To make a long story short, I ended up taking the vehicle to clarksville, where they proceeded to blame nashville for the shody work. Clarksville proceeded to fix the vehicle with a new part for the window, and were well aware that we would be moving to new york the next week. About two weeks ago we noticed that the window was off the track again. I have been to two dealerships in the new york area, the first is bay ridge Nissan. They wanted absolutely nothing to do with me. They told me that I would have to go back to the dealership where we purchased the vehicle. So, I decided not to go back to that dealership. Then today, I took the truck to the dealership on staten island which cost me $8 in tolls for me to be treated like a moron and like I don't know anything about the vehicle I am driving. I had to call my husband, who in turn had to pay another $8 in tolls to come and help me even get a little help from the dealership. Funny how there minds changed when he showed up. I am hoping that this will be the end of this problem. Lets see, I dropped the vehicle off at 0830 this morning and still have not heard a word from anyone about it. I know for sure that this is the last vehicle that we will purchase from Nissan. They have the worst customer service in the business.
