1 Steering problem of the 2024 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 07/28/2024

I bought the car on 06/27/2024, it had 3974 miles used by the dealer, and on July 30, 024 I returned it to the dealer, it has a problem with the steering, while driving it constantly goes to the left if I increase the speed on I-20, when you shift the lever from park to drive it feels like the transmission jumps, it bumps under the car and the power on the clock screen turns off while I was driving at night. I mean, I don't feel safe driving it anymore, I asked the dealer for a change but he didn't grant my request. I need help because I left the car at the dealer and today, August 16, I still don't have a car, no one has helped me.

2 Steering problem of the 2011 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 02/01/2022

My 2011 Nissan Armada started shaking very badly 8 months ago. Around that same time I had all 4 tires replaced. I took the car back to the place that put my new tires on (national tire and battery) and was told that the rack and pinion assembly needed to be replaced. They wanted $800-900 for the repair and to leave my car for 3 days which I could not do due to having only one vehicle. I took my car to a mechanic that dealt with electrical issues as well (motions automotive). They did what I felt like was a quick fix because the owner told the mechanic what he needed to do but the mechanic did a ride along with me, vocally stated what he wanted to do and reassured me he would do his best but the owner took precedence. Something was done to my air compressor(s) and it lasted a little over a week then went back to violently shaking every time I hit a bump or pot hole as well as the car taking a while to come to a complete stop. That happened from the beginning and I took it to the Nissan dealership twice and was told that’s normal. I have to stop far off from a stop sign or light to stop in time or just fly through. All of the recalls that the 2010 Armada has is all of the same issues I’m having which are very dangerous and life threatening. My suspension, rack and pinion, and brakes are all severely affected. I have 3 children and we love that car but as a single mother it fit my budget and family needs perfectly. I forgot to add that no warning lights are on nor were they ever on which worried me the most. I hope that someone can add the 2011 Nissan Armada to the 2010 Nissan Armada recalls. Thank you for your time!.

6 Steering problem of the 2011 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 12/25/2020

The electrical components went out in the steering wheel. 1st the radio and controls went out and then the horn eventually stopped working, had to pay $300 for the part itself and even the dealership didnt have it I had to order from a specialty shop. Took all day to repair. The airbag light is constantly on but there is nothing wrong with the air bag and has been reset but it stays on. The driver side window wont roll up half the time the electrical component has went out. Sometimes it rolls down by itself. Headlights have water in them and hard to keep out after replacing them. After only having it a few months had to replace the engine bc it kept smoking. Thank goodness for warranties and at 1st they wasnt going to replace it.

Vehicle originally sold in rhode island, underneath is corroded and welding that is holding spring and or shock seems weak and steering wheel turns by itself when hit a groove or coming to stop on city street. Left front wheel, tire, disk brake assembly, plus caliper and brake disk detached from vehicle while truck was traveling approx 60 mph on rte 8 in conn. Truck spun into the median guard rail and I had to struggle to get it stopped. Inspection of the left front wheel well revealed that the tie road to that wheel assembly had completely severed itself--as if you were slicing into a cake with a knife. . We could have easily been both killed. I want you to research whether there were any recalls for this 2004 Armada of which I was never notified. Please respond to bobzysk@gmail. Com thank you.

16 Steering problem of the 2015 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 10/11/2015

The vehicle has been repaired 22 times. Issues ranged from computer to steering issues. On more than 1 occasion, the vehicle has been at the dealership being repaired for three weeks of more in a single month. During a recent road trip, the vehicle was hard to control on the road; the steering would difficult to keep the vehicle in the lane during turns, while on the highway and could not drive at highway speeds. My steering wheel is not straight, even after the recent wheel alignment when they discovered that I did not have cambers installed on the front end. The Nissan dealership where I purchased the vehicle never assisted me, and now Nissan is offering to repurchase the vehicle, but would like for me to pay them $18k. I and my family are completed exhausted with this matter, especially after our trip that should have taken 20 hours took us 26 hours, due to the condition of the vehicle. Whenever I have to drive somewhere it must be a short distance, since I have no trust that the vehicle will not be involved in a collision, due to the issues with the vehicle. Also whenever driving, my hands are always shaking, since I am afraid to drive the vehicle. Additionally, I do have all of the repair records to prove the issues, and repairs done to this vehicle.

17 Steering problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 06/13/2015

My Armada shuts off while driving down the road. When it does the steering goes and the brakes won't work. I bought got rear ended trying to get off the road when it happened the first time. This is a very dangerous problem. I just got this about 6 months ago. I looked up and seen recalls on this problem but I put my VIN number in and it says there is none for my car. If it has been fixed prior to my ownership then its went out again. And again thats not good. This could get someone killed! esp if I was driving on interstate. I couldn't get out of way of traffic.

19 Steering problem of the 2006 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 07/05/2014

I hit a deer on July 5th 2014. My front bumper pushed in on my driver side wheel. Cracked my grill. Broke out a head light on driver side. Bent the driver fender and drivers door and my airbag did not deploy. A week and a half later my airbag light comes on. . . . . I carried it to Nissan and they said it was not wreck related. Spoke with my insurance company and was told that this is a common issue with Nissan Armada. I need a reliable vehicle and I cant take the chance of traveling with hazardous restraints. . I currently have a reject sticker and I do not feel responsible for repairs.

The car totally shut down multiple times without warning while I was driving. The first time that I took it to the dealer it saw thought the problem was a faulty sensor in the transmission. The sensor was replaced. 4 days later the same thing happened again. The second time that this happened the dealer replaced the whole computer. I no longer have the SUV.

22 Steering problem of the 2006 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 09/18/2013

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Armada. The contact stated a vdc warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The dealer stated that the brake sensor caused the vdc light to illuminate. The dealer did not have the parts to remedy the brake sensors; therefore, the dealer referred the contact to another dealer. The second dealer also preferred a diagnostic test be performed. The dealer stated the brake booster caused the vdc light to illuminate. The dealer replaced the brake booster but the repair did not remedy the failure. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer who performed another diagnostic test. The dealer stated the steering sensor was defective and cause the vdc light to illuminate. The dealer reset the steering sensor. The vdc failure was repaired. The contact filed a complaint with the manufacturer who stated all three defects could have caused the vdc light to illuminate. The failure mileage was 68,500.

23 Steering problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 06/01/2011

Nissan Armada (and titan which is identical mechanically) has a known problem with it's front brakes being undersized in the early models of said vehicles (model years 2004-2006). This can easily be confirmed by Nissan's three changes they have made to the front brakes of these vehicles even though the vehicles have essentially remained unchanged from years 2004 right up though the current model year 2015. They first changed the rotor thickness, then the rotor diameter (320mm to 350mm) and the calipers/torque members/brake hoses, then finally they changed the inner hub diameter of the rotor due to an increase in the hub/bearing size (82mm to 90mm). Nissan had issued at least one TSB about this problem but they never issued a recall which is what they should have done. The core issue is that these rather large full size SUV's and pickup trucks were designed initially with front brakes that were severely undersized for the weight/size of the vehicle. This led to the vehicles rotors easily overheating and glazing the brake pads which then led to hot spotted, warped, or otherwise ruined front rotors and pads. Another symptom (that I believe it caused and the most dangerous part) is that especially in the warmer months the overheating of the rotors would cause the anti lock front brake system sensors (located within the front wheel hub) to trigger (false positive) randomly and you would dangerously lose control of the vehicles ability to brake (and steer) safely. Turning the vehicle off momentarily and restarting would "clear" the problem but never the less extremely unsafe. I have contacted Nissan of north America customer service and informed them of this but they are unwilling to help other than to tell me to take it to a dealer at my own cost. I said I would be happy to do so if they covered the cost of the "diagnostics" but they refused.

24 Steering problem of the 2007 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 09/01/2009

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Armada. While driving at approximately 60 mph, the vehicle began to shake violently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed the vehicle would need a front end alignment. The repair was performed yet the failure recurred two additional times. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for an alignment upon each failure. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 43,000.

25 Steering problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 07/11/2005

Nissan Armada has a known problem with it's front brakes being undersized in the early models of said vehicles (model years 2004-2006). Several times have had issues with brakes not respoding and lost control of vehicle. This is caused by undersized breaks. Not having proper sized brakes has led to rotors easily overheating and glazing the brake pads which then led to hot spotted, warped, or otherwise ruined front rotors and pads. The greatest unsafe symptom is that especially in the warmer months the overheating of the rotors would cause the anti-lock front brake system sensors to trigger (false positive) randomly and you would dangerously lose control of the vehicles ability to brake (and steer) safely.

26 Steering problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 04/14/2005

The indicator remained lit until the engine was turned off. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection, but they could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent tire shop and the technician stated that the rear wheels needed to be aligned. The vehicle has not been repaired. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 65,000 and the current mileage was unknown.

27 Steering problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 08/03/2004

We have been experirencing problems with cabin noise. There is wind getting in the vehicle and you can definitelty hear it. Another problem we have had is the right rear power window scrubbing when you let it up or down. I have set an appointment for it and the cabin noise to be serviced. I called the dealership today and asked about recalls on this vehicle, because mine shakes as you are stopping, possibly a brake or rotor problem. I was told there were no recalls, but they didn't even tell me about the service bulletins on this vehicle.

28 Steering problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 05/13/2004

The vehicle steering wheel kept on veering to the right while vehicle in occupying and got worse at braking. I have to constantly hold the steering wheel firmly and veer it to the left in order to keep the vehicle running straight. This will cause hundred of dollars to fix and could cause serious injury or death to people who driving it. The dealer said this is normal crown drift and don't do anything to fix the problem. I had contacted Nissan manufacture concern about this problem. Nissan addressed all vehicles are supposed to slightly veer to the right when your hand is removed from the steering wheel. This is a safety precaution that keeps vehicles from going into oncoming traffic in the event the driver falls asleep, has a heart attack, stroke, etc. I had been driving for 10 years and never hear about this before. I had drive the Honda, Toyota, Dodge ram, Acura, malibu, chevy and never experienced any veering of the steering wheel either to the right or left. I have been asking a lot of people about this everyone said all the vehicles have to go straight when running on a good leveled road. Nissan didn't put any kind of writing or note on the contract, vehicle safety features or vehicle description to let the customers know that the vehicle will veer to the right due to safety precaution. Accordingly to the contract the dealer has to let the customers any problem that the vehicle has. I had never been told that this vehicle will slightly veer to the right by sale rep, sale manager, and so on. Please help me and other for our safety. Thanks.

29 Steering problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 05/13/2004

We bought a brand new 2004 Nissan Armada from brown&brown Nissan in tempe arizona on may 12, 2004. The car has problem with alignment and brakes. The steering always lean to the right even run on the floated road, the whole car shaken when running on the rough road and breaking, window making noise when car shaken. We brought the vehicle back to the dealer and notify them about the problems that we had experienced on may 13, 2004. The service tech told us it is normal nothing wrong with the vehicle and said that Nissan made all vehicles like that. We don't think this is right because all vehicles have to run straight not leaning to neither right or left side of the floated road and should moving smoothly not shaking when run on the rough road. This is concerned me about my family safety. Brown&brown Nissan sale managers wanted us to bring the car to service to get fix. Since their service tech said the problems are normal and nothing wrong with the vehicle when those symptoms above occurred. We don't think it is a good idea to bring it to the service and let them fix it. So we had request to switch for another vehicle but the dealer general sale managers disputed and ignored my request and didn't care about customer satisfaction nor customer's safety. Brown&brown's head manager don't talk to us since we don't want to bring the vehicle to the service even though we had call in a lot of times and request to talk to him or left him a message on his answer machine. Now we are stuck with the lemon vehicle and don't know what we need to do next to protect our customer rights and our family safety. Please help us to solve this problem and also save other people from bad car dealerships which selling bad car, treat customer with no respect, don't care about customer's satisfaction and specially don't care about customer's safety like brown&brown Nissan dealership in tempe, arizona.
