1 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2025 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 04/24/2026

I am writing to report a critical safety failure regarding my vehicle’s display systems. While driving, the left side of the infotainment system (the digital instrument cluster) went completely dark. I lost all visibility of my speedometer, odometer, and critical vehicle warnings. I immediately pulled over and attempted to power-cycle the vehicle, but the display remained unresponsive. Shortly after, the right side of the infotainment system also failed, resulting in a total loss of control over the hvac (ac), radio, and integrated garage door opener. This is a recurring issue documented by other owners of this model, and given the loss of the speedometer while in motion, I consider the vehicle unsafe to drive until repaired.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2025 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 03/17/2026

I was driving and the left side of infotainment system went out. I could not see my speed, odometer everything on the dash. I pulled over, stopped the car, turned it off and on but that did not work. This was very dangerous. After sitting for about 30 minutes it started working. I took it to the dealer and picked it up because they were waiting on direction from Nissan. Then the right side of the infotainment went out. It has not come back on. This side controls the radio, ac and garage door opener. Something is wrong and I am not the only owner this has happened to.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2025 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 01/26/2026

While driving my 2025 Nissan Armada platinum reserve during morning rush hour traffic and moving with the speed of traffic, the accelerator (gas) pedal assembly physically broke off, causing an immediate loss of throttle control. The failure occurred in active traffic at a busy intersection located at the top of a hill, leaving the vehicle stranded partially in a turn lane and straight-through lane. I was unable to safely move the vehicle out of traffic due to the pedal detaching from its mounting point. There were no warning lights, no prior looseness, and no unusual resistance prior to the failure. This appears to be a mechanical/structural failure of the accelerator pedal assembly, not an electronic throttle or sensor malfunction. Due to the dangerous location and inability to move the vehicle, law enforcement (a sheriff) responded approximately 30 minutes later to assist with traffic safety. The vehicle remained immobilized in traffic for an extended period, and it took nearly two hours for a tow truck to arrive. This incident created a serious and prolonged safety hazard, exposing me and other motorists to a high risk of collision. The vehicle had approximately 9,700 miles and has been driven under normal conditions. The vehicle is currently not being driven due to safety concerns. The failed accelerator pedal assembly is available for inspection. I am reporting this as a potential manufacturing or material defect and believe it warrants investigation to prevent similar failures in other vehicles.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2022 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 08/16/2025

The vehicle radiator fan clutch engaged all the time and slowed acceleration responsiveness. This could cause safety issues when the vehicle responds to gas differently. This seemed to be a common component that goes out on Armada.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2019 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 11/11/2023

This vehicle has less than 24k miles, and just surpassed the warranty period and suddenly with no explanation, it won't start due to a faulty start switch in the brake pedal which must be depressed to start the vehicle or shift into drive. 90% of the time the vehicle will not start. Only after spending 10-20 fidgeting with the break pedal while simultaneously pushing the start button and moving the gear knob will the vehicle start if you are lucky. Then you can spend another 20 minutes trying to get the vehicle to go into gear. The dealer and Nissan refuse to recall this item despite over one million complaints on the issue, and a history or recalls on other models with the same switch. But the dealer is happy to charge over $1500 to replace it. After spending nearly 70,000 on these cars new, few people are willing to throw $1500 at it with so few miles. Now the vehicle has serious problems. While driving down the road, the car will suddenly and instantly lock the brakes with no warning. This happened twice. Once in the street and one on the highway. In addition, the bci malfunction and several other lights come on and many of the main funtions of the car just shut down while driving.

6 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2017 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 02/13/2023

Car is has been having bci malfunction warning come up. This has happened numerous times since purchasing. It has been taken to the dealership multiple times for this issue. They have replaced brake switch sensors and even the battery and calibrated everything and the problem continues to persist. This has left us stranded on the side the road with the car not starting. It has caused sudden braking while driving on interstate with no warning and nothing to cause this reaction… two Nissan dealerships that have looked it it play it off as nothing meanwhile I keep reading of more people having similar issues with this vehicle. This needs to be further investigated before someone is out in a deadly situation.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2008 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 08/08/2022

For the past couple of years my 2008 Nissan Armada has been giving me issues with the gas gauge not reading accurately, it has progressed over time. It started out happening around a quarter of a tank with anywhere from 25 to 60 miles to empty according to the reading on the screen display. There has been no warning of running out of gas, it just happens while driving, the vehicle starts to shut down & the steering wheel eventually locks up, I do not have very long to find a driveway or parking lot to coast into before the vehicle completely shuts down. Over time it has happened at different intervals indicating I still have gas according to the gauge & the screen display, one time it showed as much as 147 miles to empty. My husband & I researched what may need to be checked or replaced to remedy the issue, everything led to changing the fuel pump which we did in August 2022. Within a few days it started happening again, at that time we had a mechanic look at my vehicle, they figured out that the fuel pump was missing a cap on the end of it, they replaced it. After about 4-6 months or so it started happening again, at that time we brought it back to the same mechanic to assess. After keeping it for 4 days, they decided that "the fuel pump must be bad & needs to be changed, sometimes fuel pumps just go bad". After paying over $700. 00 to replace the fuel pump again (March 2023), it lasted about 2 weeks & happened again! there was a recall back in 2010 I believe for the fuel sending unit on my vehicle, Nissan replaced it at no charge, however, I was not having any issues at that time, when I called Nissan a year or so ago, they told me that a recall can only be done once where they fix the issue at no charge.

Failure Date: 12/20/2021

12/2/2021 SUV accelerated on its own incident happened in my daughters driveway. SUV is available for inspection I have possession as of 1/22/22 picked up from Nissan dealership. I pulled in the her driveway then I backed up so I would be half on the driveway and half on grass in the event her or her husband needed to leave backed up the car and soon as I put the car in drive the car accelerated on its own. I pushed my foot on the brake pedal as hard as I could would not stop till it hit my daughters car which then shoved her new car through her garage door. A warning message came up on the screen stating sonar malfunction as this was all going on. There was a police report filed that same day. Car was taken to Nissan dealership we were told to leave the car and contact Nissan consumer hotline. I called they said they would assign someone to the case and they would call me. The first contact from the Nissan consumer hotline case manager was1/3/2022. This person was very hard to reach. Called me and stated inspection would be done in a couple weeks she would contact me when she had a date. She calls me the same day they were doing the inspection. Then called me back on 1/21/2022 to inform me the inspection results were in. Stated they could find anything wrong and were unable to duplicate. When I went to pick up my Nissan SUV we were handed a paper from the inspection did not have any details regarding the test. What did they do to come to the conclusion there is nothing wrong? they code is gone that came up when car was accelerating (sonar malfunction) . They told us the car is safe to drive. I have had so much anxiety about driving period since this incident. Since Nissan stated it’s safe to drive my husband said he would we have no choice the day Nissan called back to inform us of that we’re be a scheduled inspection. I called back forgot to ask a few questions . Is the car safe we can drive this was before inspection results no return call.

16 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2006 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 09/03/2014

I was driving my kids to school, as I was reaching a stop sign I went to hit my brakes when all of the sudden I had no brake power, made an ugly grinding noise and stopped in the middle of the intersection luckily there were no kids crossing the road or could of been something really bad! please help us!.

17 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 11/12/2013

I was approaching an intersection with a stop light what was red. There were 4 cars ahead of me. When I applied the brakes, my feet also hit the accelerator pedal at the same time. The car jumped forward and hit the car in front of me and also pushed it into another car resulting in a multi car accident. My car sustained minor damage but two of the other cars had significant damage. This was the second time that this occurred to me with this vehicle. The other time was a similar situation where I was approaching a stop sign. Fortunately, no one was in front of me. In both incidents, I was wearing western style boots. But it could have easily happened with work boots. I believe that the placement of the brake pedal is too close to the accelerator pedal. This vehicle also has adjustable brake pedals, which could also be a contributing factor.

18 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2005 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 09/03/2013

While driving, the abs brake light comes on and when I try to brake, the brakes make a grinding/groaning noise and the vehicle does not brake properly. This has happened on several occasions. It is always sporadic. When the vehicle is shut off, something resets and it won't do it again. So the Nissan dealership says they can't fix it because they can't find anything wrong. It is a safety issue because it can happen anytime and it affects the brakes working. If there is a crash in the future, it will be the fault of Nissan because I am documenting everything, including this safety complaint.

19 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2006 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 03/23/2013

At 61000miles 2005 Armada taken to tracy CA Nissan dealer they gave me estimate$ 2900 dollars to replace catalyst converter system . But I figure out Nissan give warranty for cat up to 75000 miles . That means they are doing bull shih they spouse to be let me know that it will be free , right. But god luck I took off battery wire and reset then went to smog in CA and I was passed but now my truck has 83000 miles and I got again engine light that says po420 mean cat converter need to replace which is 2800 dollars I can't afford that much so my question is who's fault is it Nissan or me but I took my vehicle to dealer at 61000 miles but that time they cheated me.

20 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2005 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 07/10/2012

My brakes failed twice in my 2005 Nissan Armada w/55k miles. The first time, my brakes failed to stop me at an intersection, with a near miss collision. The brake light came on & there was a horrible grinding sound, the brake pedal pulsated & I had to take it all the way to the floor to attempt to stop my vehicle. I immediately pulled over and was towed to my mechanic. I was told there was nothing wrong with my brakes? the light no longer came on and the sound was gone. Approx 3 months later it happened again. Driving 35 mph I started to brake and the exact same thing happened again. This time I drove home and parked it, got back in the vehicle to check it and the brake light was off & the sound was gone, brakes still felt different however. The next morning, I did some research online, saw a bunch of people having the same exact problems. I called Nissan directly & opened a case. Made an appt at the dealership, they knew exactly what I was talking about. After inspection they told me it was my brake booster & it needed to be replaced and reprogrammed & it cost $975. I called Nissan to let them know the cost & asked for assistance since it was a defective part. I was informed to not pick up my vehicle until I heard from them. I had rented a car from the dealership. Nissan took 5 days to respond & called at 5:30pm to say sorry we decided not to help. So not only did I pay for the part, reprogramming & service, I also had to pay for the rental as well! they denied me for two reasons, my vehicle was out of warranty & I did not have it serviced at a dealership. Poor customer service! because of that I will never buy another Nissan ever again! and I love my car. . . They need to own the problem! people are at risk because of faulty programming and parts. They will probably wait for someone to die before they actually take any action!.

21 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 05/11/2010

The problems has been duplicated with a repair technician but they cannot find the source of the problem.

22 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 05/04/2010

While exiting the freeway, going approx. 45 mph the brakes on my 2004 Nissan Armada completely went out. When I pressed on the brake pedal I heard an awful grinding noise and the felt a vibration throughout the car and the pedal just went to the floor. The 'brake' light lit up on the dash and the emergency brake pedal moved 4-5 inches upwards from its normal position. This was the first time my brakes have completely gone out. I wasn't stopping and narrowly missed plowing into the back of a delivery truck. I was able to pull over at a safe place and call a tow truck- it was towed to a Nissan dealership. According to the dealer, my brake booster assembly was defective and they would replace it to the tune of $1300. It is still at the dealership being repaired. I reported this to Nissan hq on 5/6/2010 as well. I had 2 kids in the car with me at the time and this was an extremely terrifying event! the consumer stated the dealer informed her the vehicle needed a new brake booster assembly. The consumer stated there have been no other failures since the brake booster was replaced. The consumer did notice there was a difference in braking ability when she applied the brake. The dealer stated there was nothing wrong. Updated 10/08/10.

23 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 08/08/2007

The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that the fuel gauge did not register the correct amount of fuel in the vehicle. The vehicle stalled while registering 1/4 of a tank. In addition, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate and the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard when depressed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or independent mechanic for the acceleration or fuel gauge issues. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the brake pedal issue; however, the failure could not be replicated. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 203,000.
